Chapter 26: Daddy's Little Girl... For Now

Caitlin POV

I'm sitting on my bed with my knees in my chest, arms around my legs, staring at the locked door. Waiting for Jake or my mom to start yelling at me through it. But instead, there was a light knock. I couldn't say a word, knowing that my mom or brother could be right behind it. Until there was a little voice.

"C, It's not mom or Jake."

My little sister.

I get up slowly and open the door. There stands my little sister Lexi and her stuffed teddy bear.

"C-can I sleep in y-your room tonight? I-I'm scared." She mumbles.

I never liked Lexi that much, honestly I hated her. But now was the time to be a good big sister for her. I nodded, letting her come in my room. She snuggled on my bed and curled up on a ball with her teddy. I sat on the edge of my bed thinking till I heard my phone ding. I open my phone to see a text from the one and only Shawn Mendes.

Shawn: Hey, I got a new nickname for you!

Caitlin: Oh god. I don't care. I'm stressing right now.

Shawn: Wait what happened?

Caitlin: Long story short, I'm probably not going to leave the house for a LONG time...

Shawn: That's a bummer, I was hoping we could hang out tomorrow. ;)

Caitlin: Yeah. Hang out my ass

Shawn: What? So that means your didn't enjoy today?

I look back on today.

Bitch from my old school showed up at my new school, we fought, suspended from school, had my first kiss in a fucking parking lot, Shawn was my first kiss...

I stopped there. Thinking about how I kissed Shawn just didn't make me want to continue. My pone dings and Shawn texted again.

Shawn: I know you enjoyed and don't ignore me ;)

I decided to call it a night and go to sleep.

Caitlin: Going to bed. Night, Mendes

Shawn: Night... England

Caitlin: Uhm.. What?

Shawn: That's your nickname. England

Caitlin: Oh.. Yayyy

Shawn: ;)

I don't respond to his text. I shut off my phone and lay in bed next to Lexi, making sure she doesn't fall off my tiny bed.

*MORNING*

My alarm clock goes off and I wake up. I turn around and don't see Lexi on her side of the bed. I lean over the bed to see if she fell on the floor. I sigh in relief as I don't see her there. I get up and see the bed room door is open. I run over there to be only met with my brother as he comes around the corner into my door frame. I stop and take some steps back into my room, knowing I'm busted.

"So, wanna tell me where you were all day yesterday?" He crosses his arms.

"If I told you, you wouldn't believe me." I said staring him dead in the eyes.

"Tell me." He commanded.

I hesitated. "I w-was at Shawn's house."

He just sighed and shook his head.

"I thought I told you to never hang around him! What were you two doing? Oh my god please don't tell me you-"

"Damn Jake, no we didn't." I roll my eyes. Why can't he just leave me the fuck alone?

"Okay whatever just be ready for school in time, okay?" He started leaving but I have to tell him I was suspended. Or just not tell him. "Hello?" He asks as I snap out of my thoughts.

"Yea yea, sure." I say and walk out of my room downstairs as he follows right behind me.

"Are you okay, C?" Lexi asks when I get downstairs.

"Yea I'm fine."

I go and sit on the couch to watch TV. I'm not hungry so I'm not going to eat anything. I grab the remote and change the channel to cartoons.

"Uhh Caitlin? School dear." My mom says as she fixes my siblings plate to eat. Soon there is a knock at the door.

"I got it!" I said and rush to the door. I open the door and it was my dad? Why is he here?

"Dad, why are you here?" I whisper so no one else hears me talking.

"I was wondering if you wanted to call school off today and maybe we can do something to get to know each other." He says. I think about it for a minute. I could just lie to mom and Jake, saying I would go to school early. But maybe not because I'm suspended and Jake and I have classes together. You know what, screw it. I'm gonna have fun today.

"Sure! But I have to get dressed first. Go hide behind that bush and I'll be out in a sec." He nods and goes to the bush as I shut the door and run upstairs. I get dressed in black leggings, a green crop top and my white converse. I grab my phone and denim jacket and sneak out the door.

"Alright let's go." I say and dad walks me to his car. We both get in and we're off.

"where are we going?" I ask.

"It's a surprise." Dad says stopping at a red light.

"Noooo please tell me! I hate surprises." I frown.

He chuckles. "You are your daddy's child."

I smile at that comment. I always wanted to be a 'Daddy's Little Girl' type. But I never had a dad figure around. But now I do.

Nash POV (oooh yea Nash is back baby XD)

I'm driving down the road to go to school. Ugh today is not a good day. Shawn is suspended and who knows if Cameron is gonna be at school today. Stupid school.

I pulled up at a red light and sighed. I looked out my window and was shocked. Is that that one girl Shawn was DYING to get information about? I took a pic and sent it to Shawn with "Is that her?". I shut off my phone as the light turned green. Who is she with and why? You'd think a 'good girl' would be at school already. Considering school starts in 5 minutes. My phone dings but I can't look at it while driving. Safety precautions people.

I get to school and I check the message from Shawn.

Shawn: Yea that's her. Why?

Nash: She's out with some old man

Shawn: Maybe her dad you never know.

Nash: Yea I guess.

Shawn: Shut up! I'm trying to watch TV over here!

Nash: Well I'm going to get my school on

Shawn: No you're not

Nash: Yea I'm not
