A deep Ring Ring Ring enbellows through the the hallways, bouncing off the walls. We sit there for a few seconds as ringing fades into nothing. I watch Charles' eyes fade into black. He leaps off the sofa, out of the room, and though the hall. I hear him shout my name and something about his queen.
I run to the front side of the room. I turn left at the bookshelf and running though the twenty foot hallway. Passing by pictures of my family and a popping sound every two feet from the lights coming on. I run into the front foyer where Charles ran to. The ceiling is twenty feet high with a chandelier gracefully flowing from the top down gently barely touching the floor. As the chandelier extends further to the ground the more unobserved it becomes. Making the light look seamlessly emitting from no where. Beside the spiral staircase is a white sofa on both sides. One of which Artemis is sitting there looking and growling at Charles. As I glance at Charles' direction I see a few broken lights on chandelier. His hat was at the bottom of it with tiny speckles of blood.
Did he run into it? I guess he didn't see it.
"TEMPLE, HELP ME WITH THIS DAMN DOOR. WHY IS THERE NO DOOR KNOB?"
I turn towards him and start glaring at him. I silently walk towards him. Pat him on the shoulder as I pass him and activate the see though door. On the other side of it is a small woman. She has to under four foot and she has dark hair and dark eyes. Her dark brown eyes are protruding and shining brightly. Her black hair is pulled tight into a small, high bun. She wears a flower headset on the right side of her head. The one closest to her head is a large white beaded flower. It is round as a pumpkin but thinner than a pencil. The white flower only has four giant pedals and at each center of the pedal is single flower. A pink one, a blue one, a yellow one, a green one, forming a square in the center of the white flower. Her outfit is free-flowing and long. The shoulders and the upper thighs are a bright yellow. From there it fades unevenly to turquoise making different shades of lively greens in between. On every sleeve there's a bright and detailed picture of a beautiful peacock. It's surrounded by bright pink butterflies. Her abdomen and chest are colored in white. On the bottom of her shirt on both sides of her hips is a bright pink half-circle with golden beads dangling from them.
I turn around to look at Charles and ask
"Is that your queen?" Charles just shrugs. I turn back and put my hand on the D.N.A scanner that's on the right of the door. The door swings open and the woman crosses the threshold. She opens her arms and hugs me with sincerity. She so tiny that the top of her head barely reaches my chest area. She releases me in a few seconds and when she does. She grabs my right arm and starts sniffing my inner wrist to the inside of my elbow. She smiles politely and says softly
"Such a sweet smell for such a beautiful human. I must thank you because not many people make it into my court from the dark kingdom. Vampires and vampiresses alike don't often escape the clutches of the dark queen. Well at least without not without outside interference. You've saved this young boy from the goodness of your heart and the stress of your body." She grabs my chin and pulls me down to where I'm almost eye level with her. She leans in and softly kisses on the lips. They're soft like silk and warm like a fire. She lets me go and says
"Thank you, but now it's time for business." She then walks around me and towards Charles. I touch my lips as I think.
Did a she just kiss me? Is she really a queen? Does that mean I just got kissed by a queen?
I turn around to see Charles kneeling on one knee with his arms to his sides and his hair pulled to his right shoulder, showing off neck. The tiny woman kneels in front of Charles and takes his mitten hands into her teacup ones. She puts her forhead on his and says
