Chapter 25

I sigh while sitting down on the hard ground. It's about 6. I'm not sure anymore. My phone died so I don't know. Alex went to finish his business too. Amber is sitting on a rock. She sat down first and wouldn't share so I'm sitting down on the ground.

We heard another scream. I couldn't even tell if it was a guy or a girl. Could be anyone. I sighed and got up from the ground. "Where are you going?" Amber turns her head towards me. "I'm gonna go check that out." I point my finger towards the scream. "Well what about Alex?"

"I heard you, let's go Sarah..." Alex comes out of the bushes and starts running towards the second scream.

"I'll just stay here..." Amber sits back down on the rock.

*10 minutes before the second scream*

Sam:

Jay fell down while running and hurt her leg. Now I'm kneeling down before her examining it, checking if she has any wounds. She stares at me seriously, like she's trying to read my mind.

"You know..." she starts talking and I lift my head up "I've been wondering. You've been off lately, I noticed. Well even before you collapsed you were still kinda off." I raise an eyebrow at her.

"Example You missed a few shots when you were playing football and you were zoning out a lot in classes. Just... what's on your mind?" I look down Not surprised she noticed.... I guess she knows me well... I look back up and stare back at her. "Do you really want to know?" I ask her this because many people don't give a shit about my feelings.

"Yes."

I look back down again and let out a deep breath. "Well... this might sound strange but I've been having nightmares... about my mom." I close my eyes. "I know it wasn't my fault but the image of her getting run over by a bus to save me is still haunting me."

"I was scared of sleeping I just didn't want the nightmares to come back.... I miss her so much." A tear falls down on the ground and I open my eyes again.

She puts a hand on my shoulder and I look up "You shouldn't bottle things up inside you. Talk to me, I'm always here to help.... even if I don't help I just want you to talk to me." She hugs me tightly. "I thought you'd think it's ridiculous or stupid. Or what everyone says It's not real don't worry..."

"It is real, it's all inside my head and it's killing me. The guilt, it's eating me up inside." I rest my head on her shoulder. "Please don't leave me alone..." I close my eyes again.

"Don't worry, I'll always be there for you. I won't leave you like this.." Jay runs a hand through my messy hair.

Minutes felt like hours. I wanted to stay like this for a while. BUT NOPE SOMEONE INTERRUPTED US.

"BOO!" Luke screams and I jump up in surprise and fall on the floor. Jay didn't move an inch.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA OMG SAM YOU LOOK LIKE YOU SAW A GHOST!" Luke bursts out laughing.

"Well you were close enough." Jay slowly turns around, glaring at Luke, like she's about to shoot lasers from her eyes "You know Luke, that was a big mistake. Sarah's not here to protect you nor will Sam stand up and stop me from hurting you right now." She smirks devilishly.

"Oh you think so? You think I couldn't be able to stop you?" Luke crosses his arms.

"Yup" she starts running towards him.

"Oh so that was Luke's scream." I chuckle. "Shut up Emma, I thought she was joking. Cuz I know I was." Luke crosses his arms "Lets just continue Ugh" Sarah snaps.

Sarah:

"Oh..." I say as I stare at Luke leaning against a tree hugging his knees "Was this-"

"Yup." Sam interrupts me.

"Okay shits we got the group together let's go." Alex says.

I look up "Its dawn..." My favourite part of the day, my friend in the morning, my everyday reminder that light can come after all the darkness... I breathe in and then let it all out.

"Where are we anyways?" Amber joins us. Hmph I guess she followed us. Wuss.. I smirk. "How the fuck are we supposed to know?" Alex answers before me.

"I dunno." She lifts her hands up.

"Oh please let me finish her off too." Jay looks at Sam "That's enough for 1 night, Jay." Sam laughs.

Jay shakes her head at him and then whispers something to Amber. She instantly freezes. "Teach me your wayz Jay." I laugh. "I WILL SHOW YOU MY WAYZ...."She leans in and whispers ".. don't tell on me kay?" She winks.

"Got it. Hehehehehe" she's fun.
