A Walk in the Park

Reader's POV

I woke up startled, not realizing I had fallen asleep. I looked around my room wondering how everything was unpacked and cleaned, then I remembered everything from before I fell asleep.

I looked around for my phone and checked the time once I found it. 07:33.

Did I sleep the entire night unknowingly?

That deserves a medal or some sort of recognition.

I stood up from the bed and went down to the kitchen, hoping we had some cereal left, when suddenly, my phone started buzzing.

Evan Hansen calling...

Accept

Decline

I clicked on the accept button and waited for the call to go through.

"Hey, (Y/N)! When should, when should I come over?"

"Um," I paused and checked the time again, 07:35. "How does, uh 12 sound?"

"Y-Yeah! Okay! See you then!"

"Bye, Ev."

"O-Oh, wait! I know this, this super nice park with n-nice walking trails a-and, and trees alongside it the trails, y'know, because it's in a forest. Heh... A-Anyways, I was thinking maybe we, we could go there together, today..."

I grinned at his offer.

"It, it would be my pleasure. See you later!"

"Bye!"

I hung up with a sense of happiness in me. Man, this boy was changing me already.

I quickly made my Cheerios and took my meds.

I had a feeling that today would be a good day. I'm looking forward to today.

Once I finished my well-earned Cheerios, I realized I had to pick an outfit for today.

Should I wear something fancier? Or casual? Or casual fancy? Everyday clothes? I'm clueless, to say the least.

Screw it! Let's go with casual fancy, or fancy casual. Whatever floats your boat.

I decided on black shorts over fishnet stockings, with a black on white or white on black, (we may never know) striped shirt, paired with a long burgundy cardigan. Shoes were pretty simple, black ankle boots, nothing extraordinary.

This, I realized, is very fall aesthetic.

Perfect!

I checked the time for the third time that morning

08:02

If I go now, I definitely have enough time to shower and have air dried hair by 12.

The majority of my thoughts whilst showering was with certainty, 'Why is this shower so frickin' big? How is this shower so frickin' big?'

Like, when the builders or the architectures designed or built this house, did they decide, let's build the biggest bathroom, with the biggest shower and the biggest bathtub, in the world.  I have a feeling that's exactly their mindset.

The showering experience was normal, casually shrieking the lyrics to 'Candy Store' to the walls in the bathroom and hearing it echo off of them. Totally normal.

By the time I was finished enjoying my screaming session, it was 08:25.

I did the rest of my morning routine and got dressed in my aesthetically pleasing outfit.
