Mae couldn’t stand the silence of the doctor. She couldn’t stand the look in his eyes. She couldn’t stand every single thing about him from his breathing to the way he held his pen. She couldn’t stand him because she just knew deep down he was cming to give bad news. The time he took to answer her question felt like an eternity. Anyhow he did manage to say something.

“So I’ve good and bad news… Good thing is Jessica is alive. Bad news is she’s a deep coma right now and we don’t know when she’ll wake up.” The news crushed. All at once all different types of emotions splashed into her. At first, an extreme happiness from the fact her precious sister was still alive. But then, she was filled of deep sadness. Mae felt Harry’s hand grabbing hers. She pressed it as hard as she could to keep herself from screaming.

“Can she have visits?” she asks as her voice breaks. She felt a salty tear down her cheek. Harry sweapt it from her face and kissed her fronthead. She rested her head on his shoulder because he was the only who gave her comfort at the moment.

“Yes, you may come with me. Unfortunetly I’ll accept only family so I believe you are her parents. And you must her sisters?” The doctor was facing Mae, Heather and Stephanie. Mae dropped Harry’s to follow the doctor. Every step seemed like she was getting closer and closer to hell. They finally arrived at the room. The number 69 was writing on the door. If she had the streight, she’d fangirl a bit as she read the number. The number gave her a feeling of hope for some reason. The doctor opened the door. Her parents both ran to the only chairs available and held Jessica’s hand as tears streamed down their faces. Heather and Stephanie stepped in the room and hugged in front of the inconcious body of their sister. Mae just stood on the doorstep. Her feet wouldn’t take one step. She was left speechless by the state of her sister. Her face was cut probably by the window glass on many places and her arms and legs where covered by white pieces of tissues who were by place full of red. Blood. A scream came out of Mae’s mouth before she could hold it back. She knew Jessica would keep so many scars from this accident. She knew it would never go back to normal. But mostly, she knew she’d possibly never wake up.  Then she imagined how the doctor will announce it. How he would still have this look on his face. She imagined the funerals. All the people she never met and the ones she barely talked to before try to comfort her. She saw Jessica’s cuffin go down in that hole. She imagined a true nightmare who was probably about to happen. As the dark thoughts filled her brain, Mae blacked out.

“It’s probably the absence of sleep or deshydratation. Nothing to worry about, make sure she doesn’t move from this bed for a while and that she drinks a lot of water.” It was this annoying voice again. The voice who announced Jessica’s coma. She started to open her eyes and felted a familiar hand in her’s. Green eyes where looking right into hers. She turned her head and saw Helen. She wasn’t able to make any sound so she gave her a look that meant everything. She knew she understood what she wanted to say. She knew just how desesperate she was. She simply knew. Then she realized an arm was holding Helen shoulders and she saw Niall’s blue eyes. Next to eachother the rest of the members of One Direction were standing there, eyes full of compation. Mae was speechless. She didn’t need to say anything. There was nothing to explain. The silence was broken as Zayn gave her water saying: “Drink now, you haven’t drink for hours.” She didn’t refuse, but barely took a swallow out of the bottle. “Thank you,” she said as loud and understandable she could, “Thank you all for being here. It means a lot.” Harry kissed her forehead. Just looking in his green eyes calmed her. Thank god he was there.
