Chapter 7

The following day

” -Jessica?! You’re awake?! Someone! A doctor! A nurse please! Jessica’s awake!

 -Mae? Where am I? Why are you screaming?

 -It’s alright Jessica. We’re at the hospital, you were in a coma. You’re here now. It’s all gonna be alright.” Mae kept going back and forth looking for a nurse. Harry had left for his show as well as the boys. Helen went back home as well because she was completly exhausted by the two previous nights she passed awaken. Mae wouldn’t leave the room. She wanted to be there when Jessica would wake up. Now that she was she didn’t know what to do exactly. What was sure is that she needed to calm down. She stopped running from side to side of the room and took a deep breathe. She walked to the bed, held Jessica and said: “Jess, I’ve missed you. You’ve been in deep coma for a day now. I’m so happy you’re awake. Now rest a bit until I found a doctor or a nurse.” She gently dropped Jessica’s hand and looked at her with a smile. This smile was a real on. She was truely happy to see her back to life. She was about to step out of the room when Jessica said: “Come back, I don’t need a doctor. You’re my only medicine. Come over here.” She went back to the bed, but she refused to hug. Jessica was still full of injuries and an hug would’ve cause a lot of pain. A nurse entered the room and ask Jessica several questions to know how she felt. No more than two minutes later, all the family was in the room. Her mum and sisters in tears, of joy this time. Her dad as always was storng and just stood next to her daughter and smiled happier than she has ever seen him.

The doctor was optimistic about the recovery. If Jessica was lucky she could go back home in two days, but it was forbidden to go to school for the following month. Mae was completly exausted and went home for the night. She used her time out to see Harry since it was his last day off in Edmonton. Then, they’ll visit the rest of Canada, apparently Toronto and then, Montreal. The question about distance was still a main preoccupation on Mae’s mind which was added to the stress of the accident.

” -Hey love, you seem a bit tired. Do you wanna watch a movie or anything else?

 -Yes, a movie! That’s perfect” They sat on the couch and put on the first movie they saw on the table, The Lion King. The thing is that no matter what movie they were looking at it was mainly a reason to cuddle and kiss.

 Mae made sure to cherish every little moment with Harry eventhought sleep was starting to come over. She didn’t how all of that would end up, but she knew this was just the beggining of something magical.

  Harry just left Mae’s house when Helen texted her to say that Niall, Liam, Zayn, Louis and her just hung out togheter. Apparently, they were really friendly and there was not a time where it was kind of awkward. They exchanged numbers and obviously she was so happy. All of this was kind of meaningless to Mae for now. First of all, her sister was in hospital. Then, her boyfriend for who she has completly fall in love was leaving town the next morning at 8. She just text back a fake happy message and got into her pyjamas. Mae couldn’t let show how this didn’t matter to her since it would have if she wasn’t this exausted. She easily fall asleep thinking of her goodbyes tomorrow.

In the airport, everything happened really quickly. Helen and Mae were with the boys. Tears fell a lot, kisses were exchanged, but mostly promises. Promises that they’d text, that they’d keep contact. They wouldn’t see eachother for a while and it made everyone sad, but mostly Harry and Mae. The two of them were completly in love for eachother.

” -You won’t forget me will you?

 -Mae, you’re kidding me? You’re ridiculous! How could I forget someone like you?

 -I love you very much Harry.

 -I love you more.” He leaned above her and kissed her. A kiss full of sadness and passion. A kiss of goodbye. A kiss of ‘we’ll-find-our-way-back-to-eachother’.
