Chapter 16

 The days past, Helen and Mae were looking forward to the prom even thought they couldn’t be with neither Zayn, Harry or any other member of One Direction. They were talking to eahcother everyday through phone calls, texts and skype. Now, weeks were passing by and the prom and the end of High School was coming closer and closer. Mae still had Harry’s dress it bought in Montreal. Helen had a beautiful dark blue dress like the ocean. Everything was ready for the big day and even thought they didn’t have any date, they figured it would be a girl’s night. 2 weeks before the Prom, someone knocked on Mae’s door. She opened and was completly astonished when she saw the tall brown haired guy that was standing in front of her. It wasn’t Harry nor any guy from One Direction, it was Alex.”Hi” was all she could managed to say still blinking not believing that he had come to her house.

” -Hello. Yeah. This is kinda awkward…

 -You don’t say.

 -How are you doing?

 -I could be better.

 -Well, anyways. Mae, I know I have been a total jerk to you and doing what I did wasn’t right.”

Mae’s eyebrow rose. Alex was her ex-boyfriend. They have been togheter for about 6 months until Mae figured out he cheated on her. Actually they were at a party and she was supposed to be late. When she entered the place, Alex was already there a bit drunk. He was making out with some girl on the couch. Mae slapped him on the face, but after that Alex got mad and started screaming at her. At the end of the night she got back home, heart broken. The next day, they were over obviously, but Alex didn’t appologize at all and since then they haven’t talk until that day.

“Wait? A jerk? You were worse than a jerk! Alex! You cheated on me and when I told you we were over you treated like just another bitch you made out with! If you think showing up to my door 5 months later was going to arrange all of that, you’re totally wrong!!” She was screaming like a total freak, but it was all she had on her heart since they broke up.

“Yeah, I know. I just wanted you to know that I really am sorry and that…” He leaned on for a kiss. What is this jerk tryingto do now?! Kiss me?! Hell no! I’m with Harry and I’m never going back to him. Mae thought has he tried to press his lips against hers. She held her hand and slapped his cheek as strongly as she could and shut the door on his face. She went back to her room. She was home alone so there was no one to stop her from breaking everything. But that’s when she heard Alex screaming through the window. She put on Should’ve said No by Taylor Swift as loud as she could. She opened the window and sang along to the lyrics: “You should’ve said No! You should’ve gone home! You should’ve thought twice before you let it all go! You should’ve known the word, bout what you did with her, would get back to me” He looked at her a last time with puppy eyes when he started walking away. What a jerk Mae thought.

The following days, Mae’s locker was always filled of post-its saying either: “I’m sorry” or “I beg you”. She crushed every single one of them, making sure Alex would see her do so. Even thought, he kept giving her messages and stuff. One day, she made a message of her own. She took a post-it and wrote: “I won’t be as pathetic as you are. I won’t cheat on my boyfriend. Now, tell me was she worth it?” She putted it on his locker and posted another one on hers saying: “I thought I told you to go away.” She hoped all of this was enough, if not, she was going to call the police or something because that was harassment.

She had told Harry about it. He was a bit concerned at first, but after hearing all the things Mae said about him, he couldn’t be afraid of her cheating on him.

Two days before the big day, Alex stopped with his post-its and Mae was plannning everything perfectly for the big day. She was on tumblr when Jessica called her from her bed. She ran to her since her voice was breaking.

“What’s going on Jess?” She screamed as she saw her sister holding her stomach in pain in her bed.

“It hurts!” Jessica had tears into her eyes. Mae took the phone and quickly called 911. Here we go again
