The city spread out in front of me as I  dialed Liz's phone.

Shadows had grown larger as the bright sun moved farther west over the valley.

Liz came on the line as the garage door shut behind me.

"Hey Jenny, what's up stranger.  Thanks for the no show last night".

Oops.

"I'm sorry hunny, I got tied up.  Called it an early night.  What are you up to this afternoon"?

"Me, what am I doing?  Oh nothing, I was bored, thought I'd go over to your place.  Figured you'd come home sometime today".

"Shit sorry Liz, I'm going to stay the night with Marcus".

"Mmmmmmmm, Marcus the mysterious".

"What's that Liz"?

"Oh nothing.  I was just sitting here bored, you know.  Mostly wondering what happened to you last night.  And, me being nosy like I am...  I checked the security footage from last night.   You know, to see when you got in".

Shit, please tell me I erased the front gate footage"!!!.....

"Seems you pulled into the outside drive around 8:45 last night and....".

Double shit!!!

"I cut in, oh my god Liz you watched that"?

I felt embarrassed, remembering being on the receiving end of a good plowing.

"Three times now, you lucky bitch"!

"I can't BELIEVE I forgot to erase that"!

"Yep, I've got you covered.  I downloaded it to your tablet safe and sound".

She would......

"Thanks dear, I think.  Try not to watch it to much, bitch"!

This I knew she would.....

"I can't wait to meet him, I'll only watch it a few      hundred more times, byeeee have a nice night"!!

She hung up.

The black ghost bike started behind me. The sound created shivers down my spine as Marcus walked towards.

"You ready"?

"Yeah babe".

Helmet, check.  Gloves, check.  Fear and adrenaline, check.  I pressed my foot on a small peg behind Marcus and jumped behind him.

"It's taller"!

"It's faster to babe, hold tight.  No back rest either".

"K".

The engine felt different, more like a vibrator.  Where the Harley felt like a washing machine on spin cycle.

The moment we turned on a main road I could feel the difference.  The hog pushed us along forcefully, the black street bike pulled.

No, it yanked us down the road, if not for my grip on Marcus I would have fallen off the back.  The smooth suspension reminded me of my coupe, race ready and tight.

My body pressed against Marcus as the bike slowed to a steady pace.

"You want to play a bit"?

"Yes"!

I was anxious as hell.

"Ok, mountain, drags at stop lights or freeway"?

Hmm, curves, drags, high speed?

"Freeway"!

Soon we banked a left jumping on an open lane.  The engine screamed, I clung tighter as the vibration and wind speed increased with our velocity!
The intensity forcing us to speak louder.

"I usually cruise around a hundred or so, see if anyone bites!  Like you did last night!  Although I wasn't looking for a fight that evening"!

I smiled at the memory of chasing him down.

"I was hunting you, I saw you on main Street!  Thought I'd smoke you real quick, I was soooo wrong"!

The sound of a deep motor faintly entered my ears.

"Check out that yellow Corvette"!

A convertible Vette had entered the game as it came onto the freeway.  It growled to assert it's dominant status.  A loud engine rev flowed from the ghost in return.

Without warning it took off like lighting!

"Ready"!

"Yeah"!

The ghost had awoken, it pulled harder than ever as cars flew by!

Then slowed again, the yellow speck ahead had grown.

"He let off, I'm going to buzz him"!

Speed slowed to a hundred again as we slid next to the yellow coupe.  This time the ghost unleashed first!  We pulled ahead by a nose, the yellow car steamed just behind.

The wind shoved us around as the ground flew under close enough to touch!

I turned my Head just to peek at the Vette.
The wind pressed harder against my helmet as I looked.
We were pulling away!  Moving farther every step!

"He gave up"!

"Woohoo, that's fine!  Amazing! Let's go Faster"!

More power came pulling at my insides again as we advanced.  I could just see the speedometer. I began calling our speed out loud!

"145.  150.   160!     Faster! Babe"!!

The ghost surged forward again!

"165.    170.    180.    Faster baby please"!

The world stood still, fuzzy.  Blurred lines and colors melted into on violent shaking universe!  I could hardly hear myself!

"185.       195!  More please Marcus"!!!

Screams of pain from an engine beating to our pulses.  We surged forward again!

"202.    202 baby, I love you Marcus"!!!

Woops, did I say that out load?

I couldn't hear well in my head.

Our pace slowed and the world stop shaking, my vision cleared.  My focus returned, 202 miles an hour!

Crazy!

"That was insane Marcus, incredible.  Let's go party baby"!

We slowed more and jumped off the freeway only to return the opposite way.
The trip back had silent until Marcus broke the tension.

"Did you mean that, you love me Jennifer"?

His use of my full name was a surprise, serious talk.lol.

"I know it sudden Marcus but I have never felt this way, ever.  I will call these feelings what I wish".

"I feel the same way Jen, let's go have some more fun"!

I felt great, relieved.  A feeling washed over me, I held him closer....
