Lauren Hutton was set on fixing her long distance relationship with her boyfriend of two years, Adam. So she transferred to his college across Michigan to try and rekindle their burning out flames. It was her primary focus until she meets Jack Barrett. Jack, coming from an abusive background, has no intention of being in a relationship with Lauren. His only security is his steady pack of cigarettes, but he can’t help wanting to be around her. A new place with new faces will make things complicated for Lauren, and they take a turn for the worst when Jack’s past gets thrown in her face. It may be just enough to push her away for good, but Jack’s different from every guy she’s ever encountered back home. Lauren will learn what it means to make herself happy, and love herself in all that she does, while Jack will finally know how it feels to be cared about, even if things don't go as planned.
