Chapter 11: off limits

I stood there silently and watched very carefully.

"what are 'you' doing here again," Inuyasha growls and shows his teeth.

Sesshomaru doesn't seem phased and just stares at him.

"Are you not pleased, that I just saved your friend? Inuyasha?" he asks seriously.

Inuyasha simply kept his eyebrows burrowed and gawked at him angrily..

"I never said I wasn't.." he replies.

there was a small silence..

"Perhaps it is something else then?" Sesshomaru suspects.

Inuyasha gazes at the ground and lets his eyebrows come to a depressed stature.

suddenly, Sesshomaru wisps forward.

I exhale in shock, as my hair blew around from the breeze that he had made.

Inuyasha becomes surprised as Sesshomaru grabs him by the neck of his shirt and pulls him to his face...

Sesshomaru's expression was very strong and bold...

Inuyasha gazed back with widened eyes and toothy gritted teeth..

"my dear younger brother. between us, there is something I would like you to know.." his voice deeply intensifies.

"that woman is off-limits to you, and any other man who may become interested."

"she is mine..." Sesshomaru informs him very sternly.

listening to him, Inuyasha becomes much more irritated and angry.

and his inner Demon truly starts to show..

meanwhile though, as I stood there and watched them hatefully stare at each other.

I overheard what Sesshomaru had said, it was obvious, I was a Demon too.

and I had excellent hearing..

I wasn't sure what to think, but I felt cared for, more than I ever have.

Sesshomaru releases his grasp, and Inuyasha falls to the ground with a grunt.

the dirt lightly gathered up around him..

he rubs his head just behind his right ear while growling at Sesshomaru.

no one spoke...

Sesshomaru turns calmly and faces me...

he stares into me deeply for a few moments, of course, I stared back, and it felt so true.

then simply he takes his leave back into the forest..

after he left, I stood in place for a while and watched the clearing he disappeared into.

I look down at Inuyasha..

I felt sorry for him in a way..

"Inuyasha, let me help you up." I insist and walk toward him.

"nevermind.." he barked at me and stood himself up.

he begins to walk away..

"let's just get this roof finished.." he adds with his back to me.

I was in a bit of surprise that he reacted that way, but knowing Inuyasha I expected as much.

into the day we worked very hard, but only got half of the poor man's house finished.
