Chapter 7: Inuyasha's scorn

I stared at the forest a while after he left, Inuyasha was in the distant background staring angrily at me with a twitching eye.

I notice him in my peripheral vision, "what is it Inuyasha?" I ask innocently.

his face goes blank with surprise..

"WHAT IS IT?!" he shouts.

a bunch of blackbirds fly out of the trees..

"tell me something Saki.." he approaches me with folded arms, and after stopping he reaches for his head to grab a leaf off of it.

he pinches it and throws it away calmly with his eyes closed..

"after you forced me to talk about my sibling, and I poured my heart out about how I felt. why did you try and touch his face?! do you like him or something?!" he furiously growls.

"Hmm? that was your brother? I suppose that's why he smelled like you," I reply funnily.

"what?- no. don't compare me to that slime ball.." he retorted and slashed at the air.

"he doesn't seem that bad to me.." I assure.

"wha-? erm. forget it.." he storms off with a funny face.

I watch him in confusion..

Shippo peaked over Kagome's shoulder, "boy, Inuyasha sure looks mad." he giggles.

"Yeah, what do you suppose got into him?" Kagome added funnily.

Lady Kaede huffed and shrugged slightly..

Time skip>

a few hours after lunch, Inuyasha disappeared.

so I went to look for him..

he wasn't that hard to find, following his scent, I found him lying in a cherry tree not far from the village.

I stood in front of it and looked up.

"hey! Inuyasha! come down!" I kindly shout to him and wave my arm.

"hmm.." he looks over.

"go away.." he retorts.

I put my arm down and silently gaze at him..

a small breeze ruffled my hair, and petals flew off of the tree gracefully.

"I'll see you later I guess," I say softly and walk away.

"hmph..." he muttered staring into the distance.

meanwhile>

I left Inuyasha alone and returned to the village.

I stared at the ground as I shuffled down the pathway..

"Saki!" Shippo ran to me and hugged my leg, he stared up at me cutely.

I look at him kindly.

"Saki.." Kaede calls softly.

"come with me.." she says.

I stare a second, then start walking toward her.

Shippo looks at me and follows in slight confusion..

there was a short silence as I strolled alongside her..

"your shoes look a bit uncomfortable.." she says oddly.

I look down, "yeah, I suppose they are a little." I reply subtly.

"what do you think about, buying you some new clothes from the market." she insists.
