Chapter 13: Home

I was silent, enjoying nature as I slowly stroll beside Kagome.

I was peering up at the treetops, watching the sunlight reflect off of the leaves.

Kagome peeks over at me, "Saki.." she calls sweetly.

I look down at her silently...

"last night, you and Inuyasha didn't seem happy with each other. what happened between you?" she asks curiously.

I didn't really want to talk about it, so I changed the subject.

"mom has to be very worried about us, Grandpa and Sota too," I mutter.

"hmm.." she quietly coos and looks away.

"yeah.." she says softly.

we said nothing more the rest of the way Until we came to the well.

I touch it and throw my left leg over the side, I look down briefly, Then back up at her.

"You first Kagome?" I say.

She was silent, then strongly nodded with her fist balled near her chest.

she hesitates a moment out of fear, but jumps up and pushes off the edge.

I exhale and wait, then I see the blue light.

she got back through..

after the blue light, I throw my other leg over and gently push myself off.

The trance that we experienced before we first arrived here, returned.

It was as if we were flying through the stars in all different colors, but especially blue.

(The sound of my breath was heard as we entered our world)

I closed my eyes, then heard faint voices.

I recognized them..

Mom. Sota. Grandpa.

"Kagome!"

"Saki!" they called with fear in their voices.

before I knew it, we were both hanging into the side of the well, staring at our beloved family.

"oh! Saki! Kagome!" our mom rushed down the stairs and pulled us over one at a time.

we embraced her tightly..

"oh, my girls, where have you been? you've been gone for three days," she says, very relieved but frightened.

I step back and stare at her, how do we tell them? should we?

Kagome looks at me..

"Kagome.." I grab her arm and walk away from our mom.

our backs were turned to them..
