Noppy walked into her first shift of the day, minutes late. A cheerful call caused her to shriek and stop in her tracks.
"Who this hell are you? And why are you so... pastel?" Noppy's face showed her clear displeasure, but the mystery girl just laughed. (Look at the header. Something like that but better)
"I'm Milla! And this isn't nearly as pastel as usual.. the Starbucks apron is really dulling my aesthetic... a shame, if you ask me. I've worked so hard to maintain the whole Pastel Minimalism Art Hoe look but this uniform apron really sent the whole look to hell.." she trailed of wistfully. She perked back up again in a second. "And who are you? Another employee I take it? Probably pretty senior, having the gut to show up this late... I got here twenty eight minutes early! First day on the job!" Milla twirls a silver to assorted baby-pale colored braid around her thin finger. Noppy couldn't help but notice three things: Milla talks too much. I hope I don't have to work with her every day. She's very dedicated to that aesthetic, which is nowhere dark or tacky enough for me. Also how is she pulling off the pastel, minimalistic style AND those normally ugly pink fishnet things at the same time??? And lastly, her nails are so long.. how the hell is she going to make a coffee without breaking one???
Noticing Noppy's disdainful face, Milla laughed. "I promise I'm not so intense after a while! I'm like black coffee; way too strong the first time around but after a while you get used to it. Enjoy it, even, without trying to alter it too much. ".
Finally relaxing, Noppy realized perhaps Milla wasn't so bad after all. And that maybe she could make the gaps between Annie's visits more bearable...
At around noon the same day, Annie came in. Annie was a frazzled mess having skipped her first coffee run of the day, and Milla hopped up to serve her. Milla had only taken two orders today and was determined to reach her personal goal of five , but was knocked to the ground (rather violently). Noppy practically stepped on the hem Milla's faux suede skirt (she had seen it in stores. It was way too expensive, probably partially because it was a vegan material and also a very pretty color; the company knew a pale lavender color sold) from the way she had fallen over from the impact. Noppy smiled in an eerily heartfelt way at Annie. She cocked her head, and in unison, the two spoke. "The usual?" From the ground and just beginning to dust herself off, Milla muttered a quiet "what in shrek's name?"
Finally at her height of 5'7 and the additional 3' of her clunky holographic/white boots, Milla straightened and casually asked if Noppy and the customer were together together. Noppy blushed furiously and Annie just coughed. In shaking hands, Annie took her coffee and left. Yes, she hoped to eventually be with Noppy, but that barista was just... uncalled for. Annie pictured her grossly "internet exclusive" face (you know what I'm talking about) and made a spitting sound to the ground, where she proceeded to rub it out like a cigarette. (Annie didn't smoke, she knows it kills.)
