The Story Untold (A Collins Key fanfic)

The Announcement

It's now mid-January and school is good but different than what I'm used to. I came home from school on a Thursday afternoon to find Susan cooking a gigantic meal. When I walk in the kitchen I ask her,

 "What's all this for?"

 "Oh just a special surprise but you'll have to wait until Henry is home so go do your homework and I'll tell you when dinner is ready. "

So I went to my room and did some homework until about an hour later when Susan called me down for dinner.

"So what's the big surprise."

"Woah hold your horses" stated Henry. "We will get to that in a minute. How about you sit down and get some food, then we will discuss.

I sat down and once we had all started eating Henry said, "so as you know Susan is an anesthesiologist and I am a plastic surgeon. Well Susan got a job offer in California that offers a huge pay raise. Also since the market for plastic surgery is so much greater in California we decided I could open my own practice out there. We actually knew about all of this before you came along. But then you did come along and we just could not pass up the opportunity so we put off California for awhile. The thing is we are now to supposed to go out there a soon as the school year is over. They are actually breaking ground on our new house next week."

"And honey we should have honestly told you awhile ago so that you did not get too comfortable but with everything you have gone through we didn't want to add more" said Susan.

"Really it's okay. I'm so used to change now that it is not really that big of a deal. But California? That is so cool! I have always wanted to visit but now I get to live there."

"Well what's even better is that you will get to design your own room" added Susan.

I couldn't believe what was happening, this was insane. Then suddenly I had a thought, "what about school? Will I have to transfer again and go to a new school out there?"

"Honestly that one is up to you. We thought if you didn't want to transfer to another new school you could just graduate this year. You already have more than plenty of credits to do so" Henry pointed out. 

He wasn't wrong. I was well ahead of the rest of my class and there would be no problem with me graduating early. "I think I would like to just graduate early so that I don't have to transfer again. I'll have to set up a meeting with the counselor so that I can get everything worked out."

"If that is what you want to do then you should definitely do it but I would get moving so that everything is worked out in time" stated Susan.

"Right of course. So I get to design my own room?"

"Yes and speaking of that is something we should get started on right away, tonight even if you can. The house is already designed but if there are some changes that you want to make that is fine but we will have to get it to the builders right away since they are breaking ground next week" Henry stated.

"Yeah I should be able to look at it tonight. Will we not be able to actually see the house until we move in?"

"No. We are actually going out there over your spring break. The house should be build by then so we will be making choices on the interior design, things like carpet and wall colors. We also don't plan on taking most of the furniture from here so we will be going shopping to start picking out the furniture" said Henry.

"Wow I can't believe that in just five months I will be living in California. That is totally insane!"

Hey everyone! It's been quite awhile since I have last wrote but I am back now. A few of you said that you would read if I started writing again so here we are. I promise I will actually finish this story but it might take awhile. I am in college now and even busier than I was before. But I have fall break coming up in just a couple of days so I hope to do some writing for you then.
