"Madison this is my son Collins. Then that is my other son Devan and my husband Steven. Guys this is Henry, Susan, and their daughter Madison. They are the family moving into the new house next to us."
"Hi its very nice to meet you all. It looks like you have one beautiful house" Steven said shaking all of our hands. My dad and Steven started talking about the house but I was not listening because I could not stop staring at Collins, he was gorgeous! Granted that entire family was obviously blessed with the beautiful gene because that were all gorgeous but there was something about those blue eyes of Collins' that I just couldn't get over. I finally stopped staring when I realized someone mentioned my name. It was Anne saying, "so boys. You guys are about the same age as Madison so I thought you could show her around town. Help her get used to this place."
Collins said, "sure that sounds like fun. We have nothing going on tomorrow. Do you think you could come hang out Madison?"
"I don't think we have anything going on either so as long as my parents are okay with it that sounds great!"
My mom must have heard because she interjected, "oh well of course you can Madi. I think it would be great for you to get out and explore the town before we actually move here."
"Thanks mom!"
"What do you say we pick you up around 11? We could go to lunch and then find something fun to do later" Devan said.
"Sure that sounds perfect!"
We didn't stay much longer because we had to start going furniture shopping. It was boring but I found some really cool stuff for my room. The day seemed to drag on forever but I was so anxious for the next day. Finally, after what seemed like eternity, I woke up the next morning around 8. I went and worked out at the hotel's gym, then I showered and got ready. I wore a nicer outfit but it was also comfortable so I was ready for whatever the boys decided to have us do. When I was finished getting ready it was about 10:15. I had sometime to killed so I decided to watch some of Collins' videos on YouTube. He was hilarious and I was starting to wonder how I had never heard of him before. Before I knew it, it was 10:55 and the boys were supposed to be here in five more minutes. Right then I got a text from Devan saying they were pulling in the hotel parking lot. I told my parents goodbye and then ran out the door to meet the boys.
Once I got in the car Collins started driving and Devan said, "so we were going to go to this little dinner we like but it is about 45 minutes from here. Is that okay?"
"Oh sure! That's totally fine."
As we drove we listened to music and talked a bit.
Collins asked me, "so if you don't mind me asking why are you and your parents moving all the way out here from Ohio?"
"For work. My mom got a job offer out here and my dad is starting his own practice."
"Wow that is cool! Are you nervous about the move out here" asked Devan.
"For sure but I was more nervous before I knew that I would be living next to people my own age. Since I'm finishing high school before coming out here and taking online college classes I thought it might be hard to make friends."
"Well don't worry about that. You at least got two friends now" said Collins putting a huge smile on my face.
The drive went by quickly and we talked about our move some more and even talked about Collins videos. Before we knew it we were pulling into the parking lot of this adorable little dinner right outside a suburb of Los Angeles. We went in and ordered and Collins sat next to me with Devan sitting on the opposite side of the booth. We ended up talking about my family again. I'm not sure how but we came upon the topic of how I do not really look like Henry and Susan. I never like talking much about how I'm adopted but I figure I'm going to be around these two a lot so they will eventually find out. Anyways they are both super sweet so I decide to go ahead and tell them the story.
"Yeah well I don't look like them because they aren't my biological parents, I'm adopted. It was just a couple months ago actually" I say with tears coming to my eyes.
"Well that makes sense but what happened" Devan asked.
Collins also added, "you don't have to tell us though, if you don't want to."
"It's okay; you can know. I was adopted by Henry and Susan about a month after my parents passed away in a car accident. My grandmother could afford to take care of both me and my little brother. Henry and Susan had already expressed interest in adopting me so I said that is what we should do so that my brother could stay with family. That's what happened and I haven't seen any of my biological family since the day I moved in with my parents. And yes I call them mom and dad now, it's just a lot easier."
"Wow I am so sorry" Collins said as he gave me a quick side hug.
"Yeah we would have never said anything if we knew" added Devan.
"Really guys it's okay. How could you have known? You would have found out at some point in time so no big deal. Might as well tell you now." It got kind of awkward after that but luckily the food came just a couple minutes later. We ate and as we did the tension dried up; we were joking again and having a good time. When we got in the car I realized I had no idea what we were doing for the rest of the day so I asked, "what are we doing now?"
Devan replied, "oh you will just have to wait and see."

So what do you guys think? Sorry it took so long to get this up but it will probably be a regular thing. Till next time everyone! Thanks! XOXO
