Spring break rolled around quite quickly and before I knew it I was packing to go to California to get a glimpse of how my life was going to change yet again.
It's Thursday night and we are leaving for the airport at three tomorrow morning. I luckily don't have any classes on Friday so I'm not missing anything. I was doing some last minute packing when my mom walked in (yes I started calling Henry and Susan mom and dad. It just seemed right).
"Hey, how's the packing coming?"
"It's going good. I'm almost done. Should I pack anything real fancy?"
"You could pack a nice dress or two. We might end up eating at some fancier places while we are there."
"Awesome thanks!"
"Of course dear. You might want to think about going to bed soon. It's nearly ten and you know we have to leave right at three."
"Yeah I was going to go to bed as soon as I finished packing which should be in just a couple of minutes."
"Then I will let you get to it. Goodnight dear see you in just a couple of hours."
I was in bed by 10:15 but I just couldn't sleep, I was too excited. My alarm was set for 2:30, just enough time to get dressed and make a last minute run through to check that I packed everything. We left at exactly 3 and dad was very happy about that. It's a two hour drive to the airport but we made good time and got there at about 4:45. Since it was so early going through security and everything else was a quick and very easy process. When we finally got to the gate, after bathroom breaks and such it, it was annoy half an hour till our plane left. Everything there went smoothly as well. When we finally landed at LAX it was 7:30 their time (which is 10:30 my time).
After going through the long process of getting our luggage and our rental car it was 9. We couldn't check into our hotel until 1 so we decided to go eat and then make the hour long drive to where we were going to be living (and where our hotel was for the week). After we checked in we didn't really do anything for the rest of the day because we were all so exhausted. The next day though we were going to see the house. The construction company said that just about everything except the finishing touches, like paint and carpet, were already done. We hadn't actually picked out colors or anything so we would also be doing that tomorrow. My dad said we might even start furniture shopping.
That night I fell asleep very quickly and woke up at 8 ready to get the day started. We headed out towards the house by 9 and got there very quickly because it wasn't very far away. When we pulled up I was amazed. The house was stunning. It was a beautiful two story, cape cod style house with gray brick and white trimming. I was even more stunned when we walked into the house. It was huge and even though it wasn't finished it was still gorgeous. I was so excited to live here. I won't bore you with all the details but I will tell you I choose a light gray for my bedroom walls with a darker gray, really soft carpet. We were there for a couple of hours before we decided to go get something to eat and then go start furniture shopping.
When we got outside and were about to get in the car a woman from the house next to ours came out and yelled to us, "sorry to bother you guys but are you the one's moving into this house" she asked while gesturing to our house.
"Yes we are" my dad responded.
"Oh well hello! I guess I am your neighbor then. I have been wondering who was moving in here. It is very nice to meet you. My name is Anne" she said while shaking all of our hands.
"It is very nice to meet you too! My name is Susan; this is my husband Henry and our daughter Madison" my mom said introducing us all.
"Yes it is great to meet you. We don't mean to cut out so quickly but we are all pretty hungry and just about to go out to lunch" stated my dad.
Anne responded with, "oh well I was just making lunch. My husband and boys were supposed to be home from an event they had this morning but they got stuck in a traffic jam and won't be home for awhile. I have plenty extra and would love to have you all for lunch if you would like."
"Well that sound great. We would love to" my mom said.
We all went inside and my parents and Anne talked about things like why we were moving to California and such while we ate. After awhile Anne asked me, "so Madison what grade are you in?"
"Well I'm a junior but I had enough credits that I'm going to graduate early, the end of the school year actually."
"That's awesome! Congrats to you. You know my sons are about your age. They will have to take you out sometime and show you around the town here."
"Oh that would be great. I was kind of worried about meeting people my own age out here, especially because I wouldn't be going to high school." Just as I finished speaking we heard car doors shut outside.
"Speaking of I think that is my husband and boys now."
Then in walked this tall guy with dirty blonde hair and the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen. Then Anne said, "Madison this is my son Collins."

Hi everyone! First I am so sorry this took me a lot longer to post than I planned but I hope you liked it. I know I said Collins would be in this chapter so I guess he kinda is; I do promise though that he will fully be in the next chapter. It will be all about him and Madison don't worry. Anyways let me know what you think in the comments. Until time. Much love to you all XOXO
