If you do not tell the truth about yourself you cannot tell it about other people.
-Virginia WoolfTerrie tried to comfort herself. She tried hard to think as positive as she could. She would cherish that kiss, those conversations and the text messages with her entire heart. Part of her thought he would call, he would text and she would explain... and just maybe he would understand and they would continue a relationship, but she knew better.
Third period was actually the slowest of all since she wanted to be over with this day. Her eyes met one of the fantastic five. That's how she liked to called them when they were together. Ali, Emily, Aria, Spencer and Hannah. She fantasized being one of them, but she was too little said one of them and she couldn't remember who. Terrie looked into her notebook and she remembered what happened moments ago with Jason. Her eyes filled with tears.
"We have a new student, actually she is not new here but she came back" the teacher started but Terrie wouldn't look up. She just stared down and nodded at her words. "Theresa?" The teacher asked but she couldn't face her. She couldn't face Jason. She just couldn't look up anymore. "Are you okay?" She hadn't even notice how close the teacher was to her until she felt the touch of her hand on her head. Her eyes swung open and a damped page of her notebook was the first thing she focused on. With a shake of her head she stood up and ran away from the classroom to the bathroom. Everything was moving so fast yet she felt like she wasn't fast enough to get there. It was like she was moving slow but everything else was moving fast.
"Whoa" she heard before crashing against someone. That person held her arms while she looked down to the girl's shoes. Her eyes didn't want to face anyone, she didn't want to see their judgement. "Terrie!" Emily's voice sounded in her ears but she couldn't stare at her. "Let's get you to the bathroom" she rushed her toward the bathroom with no questions which Terrie felt grateful for. She let her cry inside of the bathroom stall without saying a single word.
It was hard! Her panic attacks were coming back and all because of one little secret. All because she screwed up, again. After a couple of minutes inside that stall she peeked through the crack on the door. She noticed Emily was looking at herself in the mirror, is not like she wasn't paying attention to her but she was trying to figure out something there and Terrie inside of her she knew it wasn't related to her. Clearing her throat she opened the door and she could feel how red her face was and looking at her reflection her senses weren't lying. She walked slowly toward the bathroom sink and washed her hands first. She felt Emily's eyes through the mirror on her. After washing her hands she then threw some water in her face. Terrie needed to get a grip on herself or she felt like she would fall apart. Her eyes darted from herself to Emily through the mirror. "Thank you!" She expressed beholden by the gesture Emily showed to her.
Emily was always so shy, so different from the other fantastic girls. She understood people, she knew they had struggles and Terrie believed it was because she had hers. Emily nodded at her and held a paper towel in her direction. "Whatever it is... you are not alone" she patted her back a couple of times and smiled blissfully at her. It was reassuring, the fact that she smiled that way at her in Terrie's most gray day.
Smiling with only one corner of her lips she nodded at her reflection before walking away from the bathroom. Terrie had to appear strong because her parents could think she was having a breakdown. She walked slowly toward the office, she knew her teacher would have spoken with her mother or the director to see what was wrong with her and Terrie was not wrong about it. She noticed her mother talking in low voice to her teacher and since they didn't see her there she got closer to the desk, her torso all bended until she rested her back on the brown mahogany desk.
