"Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up."
― Neil Gaiman, The Sandman, Vol 9: The kindly Ones

Love was always horrible, it was a beautiful lie but it always ended up messing you up. Terrie knew that since the very first moment she fell for him, for Jason Dilaurentis.

Terrie could recall like it was yesterday the first day she felt something for him. It was when no one could pick the girls up and drive them to the mall and Mrs. Dilaurentis asked Jason to do the favor. He drove them to the mall and Terrie had forgotten her purse inside the car. She walked alone toward the car to pick it up and Jason complimented her dress. She remembered flushing without comparison and how hot her cheeks were. Terrie knew then that something between them would be impossible, first because of the difference in age and second because Jason would never laid eyes on a girl like Terrie.

Her curls galloped in the air as she made her way through everyone to meet him where they met. She grabbed her phone to text him but surprisingly someone covered her eyes. His cologne drove her crazy, she smiled and waited for him uncover her eyes. When he did she giggled lightly. His chuckle was music in her ears, it sounded so good and so hot at the same time.

"Hey" he smiled widely greeting her with big dopey eyes. His green orbs absorbed her into his stare making it difficult for her to think on a proper response even to a simple 'hey'.

"Hi" she finally greeted him, he shortly noticed her hand and carefully grabbed it to not hurt her. She looked down at how his hand softly examined her injured hand.

"What happened there?" he asked worried about her.

"I was being careless" she shrugged

"I was being careless" she shrugged. "You know, I was thinking of that kiss and my cup of coffee just fell leading into this. " she explained, he shook his head in disbelief. He couldn't help but to smile at her explanation.

"So, you were thinking of me and I distracted you?" he asked getting closer to her. She chuckled nervously as he approached to her. Not here, she thought. Not in front of people that knew her mother and would go to tell her mom about this.

"Shall we go somewhere else or we are going to stand here like two idiots?" she smiled trying to mask her exasperation for the stare of a couple of people. He looked around and smiled, he grabbed her other hand and walked her toward his car. She got inside and breathed carelessly now that she was out of the stare of people.

"I think I learned something more about you tonight" he turned on the engine and shifted his stare toward her.
