Chapter five

I was feeling exhausted, but I tried to stay awake as Louis drove through London, he said it would take about an hour to an hour and a half depending on traffic to get to my hotel. I laid back on the car seat but turned my head to watch Louis as he drove. We talked about how long I was staying in London for and the days he would be available to come and see me. He said that he would love show me around and that he was happy to take me everywhere and to see anything that I wanted to see. Right now, I wanted to be back at the little cafe and see Louis’s beautiful face staring at me like I was the most beautiful and wonderful thing that he had ever seen. Louis turned the heating up in the car as the temperature read 8 degrees outside, I didn’t move, not an inch, I didn’t want to arrive at my hotel, I would be happy to spend the rest of my trip in Louis’s car.

“Kady, Kady”, “Yes” I replied, as I snuggled my head into the car chair. WAIT... NOOO I screamed in my head, I can’t have fallen asleep. I opened my eyes to see Louis standing in the cold trying to wake me up, “Kady, we’re here, at your hotel”. Louis helped me climb out of the car; we walked up the stairs of the hotel and stood at the foot of the swinging doors. The breeze blew harder now, and rain started to fall from the sky in big drops; the smell of the rain was beautiful. “We better hurry, it’s going to storm by the looks of it” said Louis. “Kady, I know I’m just a stranger to you, as you are a stranger to me, but I think I’ve known you my whole life, there is something about you, something I just can’t explain, and it feels so wrong to leave you now, but I have to get home and it’s a long drive”, I looked at Louis not understanding what I was feeling, but understanding everything that he was saying, “Louis, you don’t have to try and explain, I can feel it to, I can feel something so powerful....” Louis held his fingers up to my lips, the rain really started heavier now, “promise me one thing Kady, promise me that you won’t leave London without saying goodbye to me, I think I’ll be losing my soul mate if you do”, Louis leant in a kissed my cheek just as a huge boom of thunder shook the ground. Louis took one last look at me as I did of him, and then he was gone. His car drove off into the pouring rain whilst I just stood there. What just happened?

I struggled as I walked up to the reception desk, a young lady sitting behind it looked up and smiled, “may I help you toady”, “yes please, I have a booking here, under the name of Kady Ilana” she typed my name into her computer, and looked for a little while, “My two friends should already be here, Jess and Tori” I said justifying myself. The lady who had blond hair tied into a little bun and a round face pulled a few faces that were concerning but she said nothing, I approached her again, “sorry, is something wrong with my booking, it was a mystery hotel booking, so the airline would have had it booked”, I stood there and waited, she still didn’t say anything. I turned around and stared outside through the huge glass floor to ceiling windows, the sky was starting to look black and the rain was really pelting down. “Excuse me mam”, I turned back around and faced the little woman, “yes”, “I’m afraid there has been... a mistake, it seems that we double booked your room”, I looked at her puzzled, “and... you can still give me a room cant you” I said with worry in my voice., The lady behind the desk looked down at her key board “no”, she looked back up, “we only take bookings, we don’t just give rooms away”, I looked at her, my mouth open, what on earth was she talking about, I had a booking, “it’s your fault you stuffed up, I have paid for a room, so you should offer me another one at least”, I said a lot more harshly, I felt so angry, I didn’t know what to say, I was so stuck for words. “Sorry mam, you’ll have to leave the premises, you are becoming a threat to my safety”, this time my mouth really dropped to the ground, I hadn’t even risen my voice, I just stood there shocked “mam, you need to leave now, before I call security”, and she stood up and picked the phone up. I turned and started to walk out when the bitch of a desk lady called out to me, “hey you” she said rudely, I turned around and looked across the room at her, “you better hurry, because it’s going to thunder storm, and by the looks of it, you are going to be sleeping on the streets” she snickered and walked into a little office room behind her desk and shut the door behind her. I walked to the giant glass doors and looked out onto the street; the rain was so heavy now that cars were travelling at walking pace, the sky was almost black and you could see the lighting brewing in the thick dense clouds. I opened the huge doors and a gust of wind nearly blew me off of my feet, I struggled to hold the door open and walk through it at the same time.  I stood outside, in the pouring rain of London, with my carry on, and my sore ankle, no friends and with nowhere to go.
