Niall said our date would be casual, but I still made an effort in how I looked. This afternoon, I dressed in white skinny jeans with a pink and black floral Henley shirt. I did my hair in a sleek pony tail with the hair wrapped around the hair band to make it look like I tied my own hair together. My makeup consisted of light foundation and powder, blush, and to top it off, the smokey eye and light lip gloss.

I looked at myself in the mirror. Happy with my appearance, I turned and left the bathroom. Grabbing my bag and phone, I went downstairs and Lia was eating lunch in the kitchen when I went to grab a water from the fridge.

"Why do you look so dolled up today, Gab?" Lia said eyeing me up and down.

"I'm going out." I turned around quickly so she couldn't see my smirk.

Lia jumped off the kitchen counter where she was eating. "Oh, who is the lucky guy? Wait! Is it the same guy you watched a movie with three nights ago?"

"Yes, but it's just hanging out with a friend." I looked at the window in the door and saw a car pull up in front of our flat. "He's here, and I have to go."

"You know, people don't dress up that nice if you're only going out with a friend, Gabby!" Lia yelled as I walked out the door.

Rolling my eyes and shutting the door, I saw Niall starting to walk up the path.

"Hey, Gabby. You look..." Niall paused. "Amazing." Niall walked me to the car, and being the true gentleman that he was, he even opened the passenger door for me. He got in himself, started the car, and off we went. The first couple of minutes were very awkward and quiet, and just as I started fumbling with my fingers, Niall started to speak.

"So, I thought we would just go to the beach today, I hope you don't mind. It's a bit of a drive."

"The beach? Sounds perfect!" I looked up at him and smiled. "I haven't been to a beach since I was seven."

I felt my cheeks burn. Niall sure did know how to read my mind.

"Well, I feel honored to bring you to the beach, then." Niall let out a quiet sigh of relief.

About an hour or so later and beating London's Saturday traffic, we arrived at the beach. There weren't too many people here and I suspected Niall picked this certain beach so he wouldn't be seen. I hopped out of the black SUV that he was driving, and went to the back to help him carry the items he brought. As I went to go find a spot, Niall left and came back a few minutes later with an umbrella that he rented.

"Here, lay the blanket down, and then I'll put the umbrella up." Niall helped me lay out the blue and yellow stripped blanket on the sand, and dug the umbrella securely into the ground so it was over us.

"Want anything to drink?" Niall opened the little cooler he brought for us.

"I'll take a sprite or water, which ever you have." Niall handed me a sprite and I waited to open it until the fizz died down.

We talked for a bit; mostly about our family and friends back home as well as what we both like. I decided it'd be best to ask about One Direction.

"So did you record an album yet?" I raised my eyebrows while I asked the simple question.

"Yeah, it comes out in early fall, and our single is due out soon this coming month."

"That's so cool. It must be great to get paid for traveling and doing what you love." I paused for awhile. "So tell me about the famous One Direction band mates."

"Well, there's Liam. He just turned nineteen last Monday, and he's the one to keep us in line when things get crazy. Then there's Louis. He's the one who causes all the craziness, and even though he's nineteen too, he acts like a nine year old most of the time. Harry is the flirt, and if you're a girl and you breathe, he will make a move on you. At times it's funny, but at others it's annoying." Niall looked at me. "The last one is Zayn, and he's quiet at first but once you get to know him he doesn't stop talking and you get to learn he's carefree. He also loves looking at himself in the mirror, so that's why people call him 'Vain Zayn,' but I don't blame him, he's a good looking lad."
