Sky's heart pounded in her rib cage and she could feel her face going pale. She was scared what the tattooed and pierced Alpha wanted to talk to her about. Maybe he wanted to talk about Carson?
Sky sighed as she grabbed her handbag and looked at the man standing in front of her, who was looking at his watch.
"Shall we?" He asked and Sky nodded while she got a wink from a boy behind Liam making her blush and Liam whipped his head back to find David, his Zeta.
"You seem very pale." Liam commented looking at her but Sky barely had an answer for that.
"It's just cold." Sky replied and to some extent, it was the truth.
Liam didn't reply to her comment as his eyes blink yellow then back to their original self as he opened the door to his office and takes in a whiff of her scent as she obediently walked in without a question.
"A-Aren't we going to the cafeteria to get our lunch first?" Sky asked nervously as she looked at Liam closing the door shut. The office was warm due to the heating system making Sky sweat a bit.
"Oh, I ordered Chinese." Liam said pointing to the shopping bags on the table and Sky just nodded awkwardly, removing her cardigan in the process leaving her in her peach tank top.
Liam stared at her skin and folds his hands in a fist to keep him from marking her on that table.
"Please take a seat." Liam said and Sky goes and sits on the chair in front of the table waiting for him to occupy the chair in front of her so he could get the talk over with, but to her annoyance, he lightly strolled to his seat and begins taking out the food.
Sky stared at him scared. Not being able to take it anymore she finally said,
"You wanted to discuss something?" She whispered and Liam smiled placing a fork and Styrofoam box in front of her.
"Ah, yes. I was wondering if you could look after my sister today. She seems quite fond of you and I'm little busy with work." Liam said making up a quick excuse, which wasn't that difficult to think of since his sister had been bugging him to take her to Sky and Sky nods, relieved.
"Yes of course." She said and placed her hand over her chest.
"Are you okay?" Liam asked her and she smiled at him, nodding.
"May I leave?" Sky asked kindly and Liam's smile faltered.
No!
"You may if you want to but I would like it if you could accompany me for lunch." Liam said and Sky nods uncontrollably, settling back down.
"I got you Cashew chicken and Chow mein if that okay with you?" Liam said and Sky just nods.
"Yeah, that's fine. Thank you but I would like it if you could let me pay you." Sky said and Liam shakes his head laughing.
"Oh, please! It's nothing. Besides, let it be a way of thanking you for your company." Liam said and Sky smiled.
Sky looked at him a bit more carefully and noticed how young he was. In his early twenties to be exact. He had a perfect jawline and his emerald green eyes looked as if they could see through one's soul and to her shock Sky no longer felt scared of him. His tattoos and piercings no longer seemed scary and the aura around him no longer affected her anymore.
Maybe everyone was scared of him because of his appearance? Huh, typical stereotypes.
You should never judge a book by its cover.
Sky finally realized she was staring at him, a blush creeping over her face as she quickly looked down and grabbed the fork.
"So Sky I know you're a curious girl. If you have any questions shoot away and I'll do my best to answer them." Liam said and Sky nods and suddenly her mind goes to the very thing that had been bothering her for days but she couldn't bring herself to ask it so she settled on a more innocent question then.
"How old are you?" Sky asked and Liam laughed at her innocence.
Out of all things in the world, she asked him his age? Cute.
"I'm twenty-one. How about you?" He asked even though he already knew.
"I'm seventeen but I'll turn eighteen next month." She replied and Liam nods taking a bit of his food.
"Why is everyone so scared of you?" Sky finally asked and Liam smirked a bit but covered it up quickly. So she had observed.
"My father was the Alpha of the Bloodlust Burst Pack. After he died when I was sixteen I took over him. Remember this Sky, things change a person and for the better good you have to accept it and comply." Liam said and Sky nods.
"I'm sorry about your father." She said and Liam doesn't utter a word as he eats his food but Sky could see him stiffened.
"Tell me about your mother." Liam asked and Sky tensed.
Liam knew he had pulled a string there but in order to do things in the right way, he needed her to tell her darkest thought herself or else this could never work.
"My mother passed away two months ago due to cancer. I live with my dad because of the decision made by the court as my uncle wasn't fit to take over my custody." Sky said, her face blank from emotion because she had accepted the loss of her mother.
Liam looked at her, he didn't know about the court thing. Those were the files which his human spy couldn't dispatch because it was kept with the army.
"I'm truly sorry about your mother." Liam said and she just shrugged looking down at the food as she chewed it.
She knew her eyes were going red because of the feeling she was having inside and she quickly reached for the water bottle and chugged it down before taking a deep breath and wiping her eyes with her finger.
"I'm sorry." Liam said and reached for her and hugged her to Sky's surprise.
"I'm fine. I just have something in my eye." Sky said and Liam laughed out loud at her poor attempt to hide her blotchy eyes.
"You're one of a kind Sky." Liam said and she grinned.
"I'll take that as a compliment." She said and smiled even wider when she saw him smiling.
His smile seemed foreign to her but one thing was for sure.
This Liam Kane was very nice.
