Author's P.O.V

Liam ran throughout the forest, his heart beating as if he ran a thousand marathons. He was supposed to surprise Sky with a special dinner for their fifth year anniversary. Sky Kane, Liam repeated her name in his mind with a smile of adoration. As he looked at his phone, he caught a glimpse of Sky's picture which he had saved as the wallpaper.

"That's my wife." He chuckled to himself, not noticing how people were staring at him weirdly.

Liam ran for life as he lost track of time. He was definitely going to be grilled by Sky for being late. However, he decided on blaming Blake for his lateness. He knew the Beta wouldn't mind, probably.

"Mommy, look at us!" Aiden said with a big grin. He raised his little paint-covered hands into the air, bringing them back down onto the table. His handprints were then stamped onto the marble table, and Sky felt as if she was going to faint. Amaya, his sister did the same thing, giggling with delight.

"Amaya, Aiden," She sighed tiredly, taking her fingers through her blonde hair. The two were only four, yet they were causing trouble. "Please, Daddy's going to be home soon. We don't want him coming home to a mess, do we?"

Amaya shrugged, her blue eyes deep in thought. "I don't know," she hummed, twirling a strand of black hair with her little finger. "Sometimes Daddy is stupid."

"Yeah!" Aiden agreed, his green eyes widening. "Sometimes, he mixes up my clothes with Amaya's. He almost put me in a dress."

Sky sighed, "Daddy isn't perfect, guys. Anyways, let's put the paint way and start cleaning."

"Okay, Mommy!" The twins shouted in a union, beginning to do as they were told.

Sky exhaled deeply and gazed at a clock. It was seven thirty pm, which was way past dinner. She was looking forward to Liam cooking for her on their anniversary. She assumed that he got caught up in work again, which made her heart hurt. She was guilty of being consumed with work too. However, she never abandoned Liam on a special day.

"Mommy?" Aiden called to her, tugging softly at her hand. "We finished putting away paint. Are you going to help us clean?"

"Yeah, of course." Sky smiled at him, ruffling his hair. She grabbed some wet rags and handed them to the twins. She watched in amusement as they scrubbed down the table.

Twenty minutes later, they were finished and tired. Sky frowned when she realized Liam was still gone. Since she realized her husband wasn't going to be home anytime soon, she made some dinner for the twins. Two simple sandwiches were enough to fill the toddlers up. Then, she put them to bed since they had to sleep at eight pm.

Due to Liam not coming home early as promised on their anniversary, Sky found herself laying on the couch as she flickered through movies on TV.

She heard the door open, but she simply kept her blue eyes glued to the TV screen.

"Sky," Liam's familiar voice sounded out of breath. "I'm sorry that I'm late. I got caught up in the pack meeting. I-" He paused when he realized Sky wasn't even listening to him. She kept her cold gaze directed onto the screen in front of her.

"Sky," He repeated, tapping her shoulder. He sighed when she didn't respond. Instead of comforting her, he brought up the plastic bag full of groceries so she could see them. "I can make dinner for the kids and us now? Happy fifth anniversary."

"You idiot," Sky said. " The kids are sleeping. It's eight fifteen, for heaven's sake."

"You don't like my cooking?" Liam asked.

Sky rolled her eyes, turning the television off. "I'm saying that it's too late for the kids to eat. You know their bedtime is at eight pm. And, you promised you'd be early for our anniversary."

"I know I'm sorry," Liam said. "I told you that I was busy in pack meeting and stuff, right?"

"I know," Sky admitted, pouting a bit. "I just get sad, you know? I am really overreacting."

Liam set the groceries down and kneeled down in front of Sky. It almost reminded her of the time he proposed to her in front of all pack members. He grabbed both her hands in his warm ones and looked up at her with glimmering emerald green eyes as if she was some kind of shooting star.

"Sky," He said, smiling up at her. "I'm glad that we've been married for five whole years now, and we also have two beautiful kids. Of course, they look like me, so that's why they're beautiful."

"Way to ruin the moment." Sighed Sky, but she couldn't help the grin on her face.

"Well, they have Kane hair and eyes." Liam continued, squeezing her hands a bit tighter. "But, Amaya has your cute button nose. And, Aiden has your delicate soft lips and your smile."

"They both have your lovely dancing skills." Sky giggled.

Liam chuckled, "They are four years old, dear, how can you tell already?"

Sky clicked her tongue, "I just know. You can call it a mother's special senses."

Liam stood up, making Sky stand up along him. He bent down to her height, placing a soft yet passionate kiss onto her lips. She returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck to pull him down further. The two were so in love with each other, and even though Sky wanted to be mad at him, she couldn't.

"I love you." Liam said as soon as he pulled away.

"I love you too."
