it's been 6 months since Lucas and I started dating.
Me } you know what today is?
Lucas } of course. today marks half a year of being together. can i just say, you make me feel complete. there's no one else i rather be with. i love you.
Me } you what?!
Lucas } i love you
Me } i guess you're gonna have to wait for me to say it back
Lucas } i don't mind waiting. you want to know why?
Me } why?
Lucas } because i love you. i want to do something special tonight. just get ready and i'll send you the address. i'll let Marcus know that i'm giving you the keys to our car so you can drive there. i have him drive me there before.
Me } okay babe. do you want me to get ready now?
Lucas } Yes. i'm going to get ready right now and head out. i'll meet you there.
Me } okay baby, sounds like a plan.
we started to get ready and he finished sooner than me since he's planning something. about an hour later, i got a text from Lucas..
Lucas } see you soon princess. love you
i took another 30 mins to finish. i wore the rose gold, silky dress Lucas told me to wear for a special occasion. i count this as special. i wore my black heels you tie up around your legs. i walked down to look for Marcus.
Me } hey Marcus.
Marcus } hey, you look great. ready?
Me } yes but i'm nervous.
Marcus } don't be, you're going to love it. he kept it simple but yet romantic
Me } ahhh, i'm so nervous.
Marcus } just breathe you're going to be okay. here's the key. drive safe. text me when you arrive.
Me } i will, thanks Marcus.
Marcus } have fun!
i walked out to the car and made my way to the place. i kept thinking of what Lucas had in plan tonight. i texted Lucas that i'm on my way to the place. he hasn't replied since the last message i sent him and that was an hour ago. i thought it was odd but maybe he's busy doing some final touches. i finally arrived, it was about a 15 min drive. i remembered Lucas also texted about going to a front desk and ask for "Lucas' extra room key". He never mentioned anything about a fancy hotel. i walked up to the front desk and ask for the room key. it was all the way up on the 10th floor. man, i really hate elevators but i guess i have no other choice. i reached 10th floor and i was standing outside the room. i was trying to gather myself together before entering. i opened the door and i see is rose petals on the floor leading me to the room. i'm outside the room and the door is closed and music is playing. i slowly open the door and i couldn't believe what i saw in front of me...
Me } good thing i didn't say "i love you".
Lucas } Alani! Wait! ITS NOT WHAT IT SEEMS.
i walked out of the room and made my way back to the car. at this point, i'm heartbroken. my mind isn't with me anymore. i don't know what to do. i drove back as fast as i could. i sat in the car for about to 5 mins before i walked into the house. there's nothing that can help me feel better. i booked a last minute flight back to California. i walked inside house crying.
Marcus } hey hey hey. what happened.
Cyrus } Alani.
Darius } let's go guys.
i walked into the room and got all my clothes and stuffed it all back into my luggage.
Marcus } what are you doing?
Me } i'm leaving
Darius} why?! what happened?
Me } this is why i was scared of catching feelings for someone again. i'm always the one that gets cheated on.
Cyrus } wait what!
Marcus } Lucas cheated on you?!
Me } yes, and i happen to know who the girl is. so can any of you drive me to the airport. i'm going back home. i don't want to be here when Lucas gets back.
Marcus } you don't have to leave. we can let you sleep alone in our room for now.
Me } no, i want to go home.
Darius } i mean if that's what you want, we can't stop you..
Marcus } i'll drive you.
Me } thanks
Darius } we'll miss you to be honest..
Cyrus } yeah, you're like the little sister we've never had.
Me } and you guys are the brothers i've always wanted. i'll miss you guys so much.
Marcus and i got in the car and drove to the airport. i was still crying.
• Lucas' POV •
Lucas } Alani!
Cyrus } she's not here
Lucas } what do you mean? where is she?! where's all her stuff?
Darius } she's with Marcus. he's driving her to the airport. i'm pretty sure they just arrived.
Lucas } airport? she's going back home?!
Cyrus } yeah, that's how much you messed up.
Darius } come on man, you cheated on her. what do you expect?
Lucas } it's not like that. some girl followed me up to the hotel room and pushed me into the room once i opened it and wouldn't let me go. i saw her put something in a drink and made me drink it and next to you know i'm being touched and i couldn't control myself. i was going along with it. i then heard Alani and was finally aware of what i was doing.
Darius } are you serious? what are we doing. let's go stop her before she leaves for good.
• My POV •
we made it to the airport and Marcus was getting a call from Lucas but he didn't answer. he then got a texted and i got a chance to read it. "don't let her on that plane Marcus. ill explain everything when i get there.". at this point my mind was made up already. there was no going back for me anymore. i want to go home. after 30 mins of waiting, i was finally boarding..
Me } Goodbye Marcus. thank you for everything. tell your parents i appreciate them for letting me stay with you guys.
Marcus } i will. take care Alani. if you ever need anything or need someone to talk too. you have my number. text me okay? i'll won't let Lucas know.
Me } thank you Marcus. take care
i was walking towards my flight and i heard my name being yelled out as i was walking. i heard it two more times and it was Lucas. i didn't want to see him anymore.
Lucas } Alani. let me explain!
he texted me.
"please don't get on that plane. i love you."
i texted him back saying..
"goodbye Lucas"
as soon as i entered, i looked back at him and we made eye contact for the last time. i started to cry and so did he. seeing him cry broke my heart 10x more. i can't say i regret giving him a chance because i don't. i love him and i know i'll miss him more than anything..
