I woke up early to get ready for the day.
I walked to the beach and decided to run a few laps before the day started.
My cloak billowed in the wind and my hair was blowing like a horse's mane.
After running I sat on a rock and put my hair up as the sun started to rise.
I smiled to myself and took a deep breath.
When my hair was tied back I walked back to camp.
As I walked back I checked my weapons to see how sharp they were.
After checking I put my weapons away and found the children awake and ready to go.
"Are you ready to go?" I asked.
They all nodded and as we left I decided we should go to the forest first.
We walked around the island, I showed them stuff that I liked in the forest.
"Oh, don't touch any flowers, they are dangerous."
By lunch, we ate at the beach.
I sat on a rock and looked out into the ocean and lost myself in my thoughts.
I thought about how I used to jump from the Jolly Roger to the ocean on a hot day. Or how I once got to steer the ship when I was a little girl.
But what I remember is her. The way she laughed when I was around. Or how when I had nightmares she would hold me and tell me that everything was okay.
"Melody? Are you okay?"
I looked up to see Michael with a worried expression.
"I'm fine, just lost in thought."
I stood up from the rock,"Come on if we hurry to my favorite place, we can make it back to camp before the bonfire."
I led them through a shortcut and as we walked past trees, vines, and rocks, we made it to the cliff edge.
Everyone was amazed by the sight, even Baelfire, whose eyes widened.
I smiled and looked out to see all of Neverland.
A strong breeze came and ruffled my clothes and hair.
Everything was breathtaking and beautiful.
I opened my eyes to find the children laughing and smiling.
We watched the sun set then we ran back to the camp.
The fire was already started and everyone was already dancing.
I ushered the children to go dance and eat as I walked to my log.
"Where were you?" A serious voice asked.
I looked up to find Peter with a frown on his face,"I told you, I took the children for a tour of Neverland."
"You were gone for hours."
"You do realize how big this island is, right?"
He huffed,"Still."
"Were you worried about me?"
He stared at me,"No. I was just concerned because Neverland is dangerous at night."
I gave him a look,"Is that so?"
He crossed his arms,"You don't believe me?"
"I believe you, it's just that you won't admit that you were worried about me."
"As if."
I smiled at him and stood up to get my food.
"Well if you need me, I'll be over here telling the children that you were worried about me."
"You wouldn't dare."
I gave him a wicked smile as I made my way to them when a hand grabbed my wrist.
I was turned around and almost dropped my food.
"Why are you being like this?" He asked.
"It's fun teasing you."
"It is not."
I quirked an eyebrow,"Really? Because it's amusing seeing your face flush when I say something provocative."
"You're doing this on purpose."
I laughed,"Am I?"
"Yes."
"Admit that you do care for me and I won't say anything. If not, then I'll tell Felix that you sleep with a teddy bear."
His eyes twinkled,"Blackmailing me love? I give you a home and this is how you repay me?"
"It's called being a pirate, blackmailing is natural for me. And if you don't do as I say, I'll start walking to Felix."
He didn't say anything and I took two steps when he said wait.
I turned to him with a small smile.
"Melody, I do care for you. You are my friend and a girl. Also, you are my responsibility. It is my job to worry about you. So yes, when you were gone, I was worried about you."
I ruffled his hair,"Would you look at that? Peter Pan does have feelings."
I laughed and walked away with my food.
Later that night Wendy and I were talking.
"I saw you and Peter talking earlier, how was it?"
"Good. He was just asking me what took so long to get back to camp."
I could hear her smile,"Is that so?"
I hummed in response and turned on my side and yawned.
"You must be tired from taking us all over Neverland."
I nodded,"I am. Wendy?"
"Yes, Melody?"
"How come Baelfire doesn't talk to me?"
"Bae? He's shy and doesn't really like talking to people. Why?"
"I was just wondering."
I heard her yawn,"Goodnight Mel."
I smiled,"Goodnight."
