"Ow ow ow ow..." you complained as the doctors examined your ankle.
"You definitely have interior damage. From what we know, you shattered part of the bone and ripped part of the muscle. You're possibly going to have to undergo surgery for the bone, and definitely go through physical therapy for the muscle. Obviously that can't happen now." the doctor stated while changing the cast on the injury.
(Cast is basically like a bandage idk why I put it as cast instead of medical wrap but whatever, it's not plaster so keep that in mind)
"Well is there anything I can do to stop the pain? Every now and then it'll just shoot pain up my leg for a few seconds and then stop for a little bit."
Your doctor let go of your leg gently as they walked to a cabinet behind them. They grabbed a small bottle of what looked like painkillers.
"Here," they said handing the bottle to you, "Take two every eight hours. It should help."
(I actually don't know how often you should take painkillers and I'm too lazy to look it up don't hate me)
"Thanks."
"Alright, well I'll see you in two days. Take care and stay off your feet." they walked out of the room after that, leaving you alone.
Taking your doctor's advice, you grabbed a glass of water and downed two of the pills with it.
Hopefully these aren't ones to induce drowsiness.
You made your way to the dining hall for dinner. For the past meals of the day, you noticed the better quality of the food. When you reached your table, you felt your heart shatter at Armin's face. There were bruises and cuts all over his face."Armin? What happened?" you asked with a worried tone in your voice.
Armin just smiled at you while saying, "Don't worry about it. It w-was a rough day of training."
He caressed your cheek with his thumb before kissing you on the tip of your nose. The normal chatter of the dining hall was present. Something in the back of your mind kept you from having a good time at the meal. You didn't know if it had something to do with what Armin told you, or if it was expedition nerves. Whatever it was, it was messing with your head, and hard too. The talk at your table halted all of a sudden, at the same time Armin's grip on your hand tightened.
"(y/n), mother fucking, (l/n)." Levi hissed.
You turned around to face your captain. He didn't scare you, considering how he dated your sister and stuff. But his behavior towards you was completely new to you.
"Yes, Sir?" your face paled when your eyes met his.
He was basically radiating death and anger. His normally calm and collected eyes held nothing but rage and slight splotches of what seemed to be disappointment.
"My office." when you were frozen out of shock, he smacked his fist on the table, startling everyone in earshot. "NOW!" the dining hall went silent.
You let go of Armin's hand as you grabbed for your crutches. You could feel all eyes on you as you reached the door that separated the dining hall and the rest of the castle. Without looking back, you opened the door and made your way to where you were told to go as fast as you could, tears starting to prick at your eyes while doing so. You could feel Levi's eyes on you as you walked in. You kept your head down and didn't dare look up to him."Sit." he ordered while pointing at one of two chairs across from his desk.
You walked over slowly, your legs shaking as you knew what would probably would be discussed. He waited for you to be seated before you heard the click of his door, followed by his nearing footsteps. He sat down at his desk, paperwork littered everywhere.
"(y/n), I'm assuming you know why I br- look at me when your superior is talking to you." he stopped mid sentence noticing that you were still holding your head down. He had a tone that you had never heard from him to you. You felt your head rise as if his voice had power over you, but you still didn't dare to look straight back at him.
"I'm assuming you know why I brought you in here." his voice was basically dripping with anger he was trying to hold back. As if he was a balloon that would pop at any second.
