Georgie and I step off the bus and we see a familiar face. We run over to Phill. "How was it?" He asks us.
"I was right the porridge is actually baff and the toast is cardboard. But riding was great and I have made good friends. My roomie is really nice too." I say.
"It was nice to see everyone again. Well almost everyone. Some people weren't worth catching up with." Georgie said. She talked nonstop the whole car ride back to the farm.
When we reach the front gate I jump out to open it and then once the car was through I ran the whole way to the house.
I ran straight to the stables to go see Hero. I had spent the whole car ride trying to decide who I would go see first. Thomas or Hero, but I figured Thomas would be at the stables. I was right, he was there in SoloNights stall. I run once again all the way to him. His face lights up as he sees me.
I wrap my arms around him in a huge embrace and he does the same. "Ahh! Your squeezing me to hard." I joke. We let go of each other and he plants a kiss on my lips. I feel a tingle of excitement run through me like an electric current.
I hear a nicker from the end stall and the sound of a horse stamping it's hooves against the stall door. I run to him. "Hero!" I unbolt the door and give him a big snuggle and he snorts. He has grown so much in just one week!
"He missed you." Thomas says.
"Stacey! Don't make me your servant! Can't you take your own bag!" Georgie yells.
"Sorry Georgie." I say and rush over to take my bag to my room.
"Your back! Well, how was school?" Amy asks.
"Good." I say. I walk into my room and don't even bother to unpack my day bag I had taken back home with me.
I fall asleep after collapsing onto my bed. My dream starts off with me opening the door. There's a man standing there. This wasn't like any other dream I'd had before, it was like I was reliving the past. The man grabs me and... I'm woken by a hand on my shoulder shaking me gently. I sit straight up.
I hear a calming voice, "it's ok Stacey your ok. It's just a dream." It was Thomas. He was cradling me in his arms to calm me. "Dinners ready and I thought I should wake you." He says. After dinner Thomas and I go to my room. He sits on my chair and I lay on my bed facing him.
"So how was your week at boarding school? I want to know all about it." He starts.
"Well, when I got there we asked a senior for directions and instead we just got into trouble for standing on some grass but in the end a boy in our grade came and helped us out and..." Thomas cut me off.
"This boy, is he like your age?" Thomas asks nervously.
"Um yeah... why?"
"No reason." He replies.
"I have a really nice roomie called Anna." I continued. "So she put up some posters of her favourite eventers and there horses and it turns out that my mother Jenny Helen and Willow was one of them so that was a bit crazy and then I have a really cool riding instructor called Steph. She is a former event rider and it turns out she used to be best friends with my mum! Can you believe it!" I exclaim.
"Really?" He says. He seemed anxious and sad about something.
"The horse I'm riding is called LuLu and he is a pie lad. He is a big character and guess what?" I say.
"What?" Thomas asked.
"His dam is Willow!" I exclaim.
"Really?" He seems surprised.
"Well I can see you like your new instructor more then me when I was teaching ya." He said annoyed.
"What?!" I exclaim generally hurt by this.
"It seems you like it better at boarding school with new people then here with me." He says.
"Thomas! That's not what how it was meant to come across." I say.
"Just admit it Stacey! I'm not good enough for you and..." he started to yell.
I was in tears. I ran out of the room crying and decided to go hide in the bathroom. I locked the door and Thomas ran out of my room after me.
Thomas's POV
I hear her weeping and feel terrible. But it was true, she was happier when she wasn't with me.
I see Phill run around the corner. "What happened? Where's Stacey? I heard you to yelling at each other." He says with concern in his voice. I point to the door the I now sit leaning against. I guess that was it. We were breaking up.Authors note:
