Well, I'm good with Thomas now. We were back together again. "So why don't your other friends like you anymore?" Thomas asks.
"Well Luke hasn't talked to me in a while for obvious reasons and my roomie Anna is angry at me because apparently I complain all the time and everything." I say.
"What about Georgie?" He asks.
"Well she thinks I'm a boy stealer." I say.
"Oh. Why's that?" He asks.
"Because she had a crush on you and then I dated you and then she had a crush on Luke and yeah you know what happened." I say.
"Well, do you want to go riding?" He asks.
"But you can't? You have to wait until next year until you can start riding again. The doctor said so." I say confused.
"No, that's not what I meant. You're going to ride and I'm going to be your instructor." He explains.
"Ok." I say then run to the tack room and grab Hero's tack. I saddle up and lead Hero into the arena. "Ok. Hop up on him." Thomas says giving Hero a slappy pat on the neck. I put my foot in the stirrup and feel Hero start to tremble as he feels the weight on his back when I hop up into the saddle. He spooks at first but then he calmed.
"Ok, first work him at a walk around the arena." Thomas says.
I nod and gently squeeze his barrel into a walk around the arena. I know I was just walking but already you could see that this was a part Arab. The way he stepped with his delicate little legs and his perfectly arched neck, great for dressage. "Now move him into a trot." Thomas calls out after a lap of walking. I give him another squeeze and the young stallion stretched out into a trot.
"You look perfect on him, even though your a bit to short for him." Thomas says. I grin at this. It must look a bit funny, a short girl on a 14.5 hand high stallion. Phill says that Hero will grow up to be at least 17 hands high.
"Do you want to canter?" He asks.
"Ok." I say. I squeeze on into a canter and feel Hero's floaty paces. It like riding a rocking horse because it's so smooth. After my lesson, Thomas and I went back down to the stables to put Hero away. We were just outside his stall after putting him away when I remembered something. "Oh, Thomas!"
"Yeah Stacey?"
"So, we have this school dance and we're supposed to bring a friend or something so I was wondering if you wanted come." I say.
"Umm. Ok but will Luke be there?" He says.
"Umm yeah. I hoped you wouldn't mind but if you don't want to..."
"No, it doesn't matter." He cuts me off.
"You sure?" I ask.
"Honestly." He says.
"I'm so sorry Thomas. It's all my fault that Luke and Georgie and Anna all hate me and..." There were tears in my eyes. Thomas moved closer to me and wraps his arms around my waist. "It's ok, it's not your fault." He reassures me. Thomas was taller then me so he layer his head on top of mine. After around 30 seconds I look up at him and we kiss.
I take a deep breathe and say out loud "Your right. It's not my fault."
We stand there for a while until we feel a crushing weight forcing us to the ground. Thomas falls over and lands on his back and I fall on top of him.
I hear a nicker coming from next to me and look up to see Hero poking his head out over the stall door. He just pushed us over. I start to laugh and Thomas groans then laughs with me.
"I don't think Hero approves me yet." Thomas jokes. I giggle and roll over so I'm laying next to Thomas instead of on top of him.
"I think we should go inside and have dinner. I'm gonna get an early night because I have to drive back to school tomorrow." I say.
"Ok." He says getting up. "Let's go." He stands in front of me and gives me a hand up. We walk back to the house hand in hand.
