After laying on my bed for five minutes I finally decided to go walk over to the hall to get dinner. That was when the door opened and I saw Anna staring at me. I stood up but she waked away. I grabbed her arm and pulled her back into the room. "Don't touch me!" She squealed.
I sat her on her bed. "Look, I don't really know what happened the other day or why you snapped at me and it's clear that you don't want to solve the problem. But I need my Anna back! I can't live without her, I'm really sorry for everything I've done and I hope you forgive me and realize that we are all human and we all make mistakes." I tell her. She doesn't say anything so I sit down beside her.
It was silent. "Anna, can you please say something. This silence is making me feel awkward." She still didn't say anything, instead she turned to me and gave me a hug. I hug her back, I'm guessing she forgives me.
"So, shall we go get dinner?" She asks.
"Ok, let's go." I reply. We get up and walk to the hall we're the students had gathered for their dinner. "Let's go sit over there with Georgie and Luke." She said pointing towards the benches and table on the right. I stopped walking. "What's wrong?" Anna asked when she saw that I was no longer walking beside her.
"Nothing." I say while walking towards the table. Anna and I sit down opposite to Georgie and Luke. "Hi Georgie and Luke." I say. "Yeah hi." Anna says as well.
"Hi." Georgie says brightly but Luke didn't say anything, he just picked at his food. Georgie smiled at me and I smiled back. She's obviously not angry at me, she must have just let it go. "Stacey, can I please speak to you in private." Georgie asks me. Luke looks at her as we walk outside.
"I'm really sorry Georgie, I mean I didn't know you had feelings for Luke and it was a mistake anyway and..." I start but Georgie cuts me off.
"That's not why I came to talk to you, I wanted you to know that Luke is really hurt about what happened and I don't know how long it's going to take for him to come back his normal self." She says.
"I'm really sorry Georgie it's all my fault and..."
"It's not me that you need to say that to. Even then, I don't think a sorry is going to cut it." Georgie said. "You need to show him you still care about him." And that was the end of the conversation because Georgie had started to walk back inside.
"Show him I still care." I say. How was I supposed to do that? He didn't... That's it. The other week he invited me to go to the track for the day because he was racing Armani but I said I couldn't go because I was busy which was true. Me being there would really mean a lot to him so if I went he would see that I really cared.
With that planned I focussed better in class the next day and for the rest of the week. Georgie was back to her usual self and so was Anna.
It is Thursday now and Luke is racing this afternoon. He left school early so he could get ready but I have got permission to catch a bus to the track and back. The dorm lady was a bit hesitant in letting me go on my own but once she heard that I would be with Luke (which was sort of a lie because he was going to be racing but in a way true as well) she said yes.
"5, 4, 3, 2 and one! Yes!" The bell that rang symbolising that it was the end of the day had just rung.
"You can all leave now." The teacher called to the class. I bolted out the door and ran to my dorm to get changed. Ten minutes later I was on the bus heading to the track. I couldn't keep still on the bus, I just kept wiggling around in my seat. I was given strange looks from the people sitting near me.
The bus pulled up at the front of the track. I walk through the open gate. There were people everywhere and I had no idea of where to go! I saw a jockey on his 17hh chestnut mare and decided to follow him hoping he would lead me to Luke.
