So if you don't know me in person, then you probably don't know about my obsession with classical music.
Well, let me tell you:
I
LOVE
CLASSICAL
MUSIC
SO
MUCH!!!
Aaagahhhhh!!!!
I just finished listening to Rachmaninov's piano concerto no 2. Then I put on Bach's sonata no. 1 for violin in G minor (specifically the fugue) and started fangirling. The Bach one was played by Julia Fischer and it was PERFECT!!😍😍😭😭 I loved it so much!! I also listened to the entire Pictures at an Exhibition by Mussorgsky (orchestrated by Ravel) because I'm playing it with one of my youth orchestras. I. Love. That. Piece. So. Much. The movement called "Catacombs" is so scary, quiet, and beautiful, but then it jumps into the intense Baba-Yaga movement and ITS SO AMAZING!!!!!!! I LOVE PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION!! And last night, before I went to bed, I listened to Beethoven's violin concerto. Ahhh!!! It was played by Arabella Steinbacher, and SHE NAILED IT!!! Every high note, every cadenza, THEY WERE ALL PERFECT!!
OH OH OH AND I discovered a new string quartet by Beethoven (String Quartet no. 10 in E-flat major, op. 47, "Harp") and IT'S COUNTERPOINT IN THE FIRST MOVEMENT IS SO SO GOOD AND THEN THERE'S THIS FIRST VIOLIN SOLO THAT HAS ALL THESE ARPEGGIOS AND THEY ARE AMAZING!! And the entire time this violin solo is playing, the violin 2, viola, and cello keep going through these different themes IN INVERTIBLE COUNTERPOINT! I love it so much!! Then I also heard some of Mendelssohn's violin concerto. Such a good piece.
I love classical music. *sighs*
