Madeleine:

I strongly dislike cleaning. Juli is out in her garden, while I'm stuck inside cleaning. Paper is everywhere, along with those little foam packing peanuts.

I couldn't sleep last night, so I was already tired. Thoughts of Luna kept swimming in and out of my mind, eventually driving me crazy. I haven't seen her in about a year. Terrible, I know. At about two in the morning I was so frustrated with myself I thought to myself 'What the heck, I can;t sleep so I might as well do something useful and productive instead of just laying here'. So what did I do? I got out of bed and started unpacking the rest of the unpacked boxes. Knick-knacks and other small things like that. All I have to do now is get Luna's room together, after I clean up all the packing junk.

I called in a favor with a friend of mine who is a judge and works in the family court sector. It turned out that Luna has been getting in so much trouble they were practically worshiping me for taking them off of their hands. I didn't know, or remember her to be that much trouble.

So officially, as of tomorrow, I will be her adoptive mother. They didn't even hesitate when I told them I'm single. They were just glad that they found someone who really wants her.

I picked up an empty box of left over packing peanuts and carried it outside to put it in my car for the dump. We didn't have trash service since we lived so far away from town. I got my trunk door open and put the box in closing the door.

"Unpacking? Do you need any help?"

I swung around so fast I'm surprised I didn't get whiplash. "Jaspar! My gosh you have got to stop doing that!"

"I figured you heard me. Us old people don't move that fast, you know." He smiled mischievously.

"Sure. You slow? I hardly believe that. Just because a 1967 Camaro is old doesn't mean it isn't fast. And yes, I am unpacking. Just finished actually. What brings you here?"

"Well theres a pack meeting tomorrow. It's at the Alphas house in the backyard. We were hoping you and Juli might want to come? You could stay in wolf form, of course. Also, if you feel up to it, we are having a barbecue after."

I smiled. "Nice try. I'll go to the meeting not the barbecue."

" Ha, ha. I tried, I tried. You cant blame me for that can you?"

"No, I guess not. Do you want to come in? I'm making lunch and I am sure Juli would love to have you."

" I would love that. Whatcha' making?"

"Ah, good question. Sandwiches sound good, with soup and salad?"

"That sounds fantastic, I'm starved,"

"Good. Juli provided all the vegetables. She has been living in her garden! I swear she would marry it if she could."

He chuckled and followed me into the cottage. I walked in and weaved around the boxes, making a bee line for the kitchen. I needed to check on the soup. Once I made sure the soup was finished, I turned the heat down to a mere simmer to keep it warm.

"Do you have any way you like your sandwich, Jaspar?"

"Nope. As long as it taste's good." He said from his place at the table.
