Chapter 25

Jonah

Liam and I walked balk in and he went straight upstairs. Chelsea looked at me and gave me a questioning look. I smile and nod letting her know I was okay. Jack was talking with Chelsea's parents in the kitchen. I walked over to Chelsea and she took my hand as we walked over to Jack and Chelsea's parents.

"So how was the talk Jonah? Did he intimidate you?" Chelsea's mom asked.

"It was okay, Mrs. Anderson. I can tell he really loves Chelsea."

"Oh no need to be so formal! Just call us Lucy and Chris!"

We all talked for a few minutes before Chelsea says we have to go. Jack had agreed to watch Liam while we were gone. Chelsea forced Liam out of his room to talk to Jack.

"Please be nice to Jack, okay?"
"Chels, I'm 16, stop talking to me like I'm 5."
"Liam."
"Okay fine. I'll try to be nice to Noodles over there."I laughed and Chelsea hits my stomach.
"Why are you so mean to every guy that I hang out with?!"
"Don't act like you don't know."
"Whatever." Chelsea goes over to Liam and gives him a quick hug and he hugs back "We'll be back around 5 or 6. There's food in the fridge an ice cream in the freezer. Don't eat my Choco Tacos. Don't let Liam eait them either!"

"Okay Chels, I got it. You guys go have fun." Jack pushes us out the door. I give him a quick fist bump before he closes the door.

We get to the car and Chelsea's parents were about to get in the back.

"Would you like the front seat Mrs. Anderson?" Chelsea look at me.

"What about Mrs. Marais?" I lift an eyebrow and smile. Chelsea's mom laughs.

"No I'm fine sweetie, you and 'Mrs. Marais' sit up front." I hold open the passenger door open for Chelsea.

"Well then, right this was Mrs. Marais." Chelsea laughs then plays along.

"Why thank you, Mr. Marais." I kiss Chelsea's cheek before closing the door and jogging to my side of the car. I hop in the drivers seat and start up the car. I offer my hand and she takes it and we were off.

--Time Skip--

"So where are we headed first, babe?" I say once we get to a stop light.

We are going on a nature walk!" Chelsea smiles and I feel butterflies fill my stomach and my cheeks get hot "You have no idea how much I love nature walks. Like they are my favorite thing ever. Especially the Golden Gate Recreation Area. I would go there all the time when we first moved here!"

"If she wasn't home by 9 that's where she was."

"Why don't you go there anymore, sweetie?" Chelsea mom's asked. I saw Chelsea frown.

"It just... brings back too many memories. I go with Ethan sometimes, I just can't go by myself. I'll just end up staying there for hours."

"Don't think about that sweetie, that's in the past." I squeezed Chelsea's hand and she looked up at me and smiles.

"You gotta live in the present and you know what I see in the present? You and me, and you can guarantee we'll make tons of new memories. And I mean a ton. They'll be the best you've ever had." I could see Chelsea's mom smile at me in the rear view mirror.

"I love you, Jonah."

"I love you more, princess."

--Time Skip--

We had a fun time at the Nature walk and Chelsea took tons of pictures of different flowers and of me and her parents. She posted a picture of the flowers once we got back to the car.
