Allison and Scott both knew by Stiles reaction that he knew Lydia's secret, or at least was suspecting it. Allison looked at Scott with worried eyes before they got into their own vehicle.
Stiles got into the drivers side and started his jeep. He sighed, ran a hand through his hair then started driving. Lydia could tell something was wrong from how the boy was acting but she did not know any words to say to him, 'it's not like they were actually friends' she thought. Just because they have a project together and she was in the pack now does not mean anything.Lydia couldn't help but wonder why he kept giving her rides or being nice to her but she figured it was just Scott making him do it. 'Yep' she thought, 'that's gotta be the reason' she confirmed within herself.
"You saw her right?" Stiles broke the silence, Lydia tensed.
"Saw who" Lydia decided to play dumb. Clearly it wasn't working from Stiles reaction. He rolled his eyes and sighed again. Lydia could feel her defenses building up inside her, which is something she didn't realize she dropped around the boy.
"The Wailing Women Lydia." Stiles deadpanned.
"No I was in the bathroom" Lydia stated with reservation in her tone.
"And you didn't see anything at all" he questions, turning to look in her eyes before turning back to the road.
Lydia gulp, the feeling of guilt washing over her. Something in her told her that lying was probably not the right thing to do right now, but, she can't let him back in. He doesn't deserve her. "No" Lydia stated again hoping he would just let it go.
"Are you sur-" Stiles starts but gets cut off when he puts the car in park and Lydia jumps out, not even saying bye.
Lydia is feeling panicked as she makes her way up to her house heading towards the front door fumbling to get her keys. She feels a hand on her shoulder whipping her around. Breathing heavy she opens her eyes and is met with those whiskey eyes staring at her hard and intently.
"What's wrong" he asks sympathetically after seeing the expression on her face.
"I-it's really nothing" Lydia stutters out. He was way to close for her to think straight.
"Do you know something" he presses further despite her urgency to get inside, still keeping his hands on the sides of her arms holding her in place.
"Do you know something" he presses again after not being answered.
"Really Stiles it's nothing. You should go" Lydia states gaining some confidence. "Just drop it already" Lydia began getting frustrated.
Stiles, also slightly frustrated, but realizing how close he was holding the girl and looking into her emerald green eyes. He sighed and let go.
"Lyds-" he starts but is cut off again.
"Do not call me that!" Lydia exclaims a little harshly.
Stiles just sighs and apologizes. He was about to turn and leave letting the strawberry blonde free but he turn and said "After everything, I at least thought you'd be honest with me."
Lydia felt her heart crack a little, even though she wasn't even sure why. The girl did not let any emotion show on her face as the almost hopeful and a little damaged looking Stiles stared into her what felt like her whole soul.
"I gotta go, goodnight Stiles" Lydia said Softly looking down and not meeting his gaze. it was all she could manager to get out. She did not want to get into it with him right now and it's not like they are even friends Lydia keeps telling herself.
Before the boy could say another word Lydia went to unlock the door and realized it unlocked. Stiles who was just staring at the girl in front of him noticed her expression when the door opened. "Is everything alright?" He questions her.
Caught off guard Lydia had a strange feeling but pushed it aside when she heard Stiles voice beside her.
"Yes. Thanks again for driving me home." She said stepping inside her house.
"Lydia wai-" Stiles starts but the door shuts and he hears the locks click. "Stay safe" he adds before heading back to his jeep.
On the inside the safety of her home Lydia sighs and runs a hand over her face, slapping herself a little.
Lydia's POV
Making my way into my bedroom I sigh and plop myself down on my bed after taking my shoes off. I groan into my pillow, Why was Stiles being so difficult? Why did he keep asking if I knew something? Does he know I'm Her?
I have no idea why I keep thinking about Stiles but he is seriously starting to bug me for some reason. He keeps going out of his way to talk to me now and it is making it really hard to shut him out. I don't know if I'm ready to let him back in yet. He was supposed to be my best friend and it really hurt the first time.
It's also hard when he's best friends with my best friends boyfriend and our teacher also decided to pair us up for a project, which to be fair we almost completely finished the first night, we really should finish that.
( OUT OF LYDIAS POV)
At some point in her tired thinking sleep over took Lydia and she was out like a light. She got up to use the bathroom when she heard a small clicking sound coming from somewhere upstairs. She didn't think much of it, but just to be sure she ascended the stairs that led to the second floor. As soon as Lydias foot hit the floor the clicking had immediately gone another story higher.
Getting annoyed Lydia started her journey up to the third floor. She thought she heard it coming from the balcony. She opened the door that led to a beautiful marble balcony and started looking around. She found nothing. She saw nothing. She walked to the edge, looked around, and still found nothing. Lydia had decided that it was just her mind playing tricks on her. She turns around started to head back inside her home but came face to face with a hooded figure. She could not see his face but she knew it was a male. And all in one motion, before Lydia could help herself he pushed her off the balcony.
.....
The very next day Lydias mom had come home to an empty and spotless house with no sign of her daughter. She called her, She texted, even tracked her phone, but nothing was working and Lydia wouldn't pick up. after a couple of hours reaching out to friends and loved ones, there was no sign of Lydia.Police were called, investigations were started. Allison, Stiles and Scott were all on edge. Stiles looked like a lost puppy. All the news talked about was Lydia.
Scott and the pack have been looking everywhere for her but there's no scents or clues. Allison new something was coming, and it was coming fast. She just hoped her friend was okay. After all she is the Wailing woman.
