Alright, so as most of you probably know, we got some big news from Nintendo yesterday concerning Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon; two whole trailers, in fact. Personally, I couldn't have wished for anything more. The new story that we're going to get is going to be largely based around the Pokémon 'multiverse' with the new features such as the Ultra Recon Squad and... and the fact that we can even visit loads of other universes and worlds through Ultra Wormholes now?! Whaaaaat?
So as you can imagine, I'm super hyped for these new games.
So, being a huge video game lore-lover, I actually thought of a theory as to certain story elements in these new games. Just thought I wanted to share them. Also, if you get bored when I start rambling on like a madman, I advise that you turn back now
So firstly, I was thinking about Ultra Space, (as I always do), when I thought up an interesting idea. So, in the trailer, we actually get a glimpse of what it looks like between Points A and B when we travel through an Ultra Wormhole, right? You know, that weird 'space' where there are God-knows how many Wormholes and portals that lead into other universes and worlds? This place:

Ok, so to me at least, this place is pretty interesting. What if Ultra Space isn't what, or where we originally thought? I'll explain. Whilst we do go to this weird universe in Pokémon Sun and Moon, (the place we all assumed was Ultra Space), we may have been wrong. Notice how that world seemed to harbour exclusively the Nihilego. We didn't see any other UB's there at all. That's a note worth remembering. We see this world again in the trailer, it looks like we can visit it from this weird 'network' which seems to tie all of these worlds that we can visit together. Hmm... network... What if this 'network' really is Ultra Space? The 'Border Universe' that connects all of these worlds together? To me at least, it makes a lot of sense, and I have some ideas to back the idea up. First of all, the appearance and structure of this place seems more fitting to the term 'space', but there is another thing of interest: the Ultra Beasts themselves. In the new trailer, we see a lot of new worlds that all look different and unique, and we see different Ultra Beasts in different worlds. By definition, the Ultra Beasts are creatures from another universe, known as Ultra Space, although it seems unlikely (to me at least) that the UB's developed and evolved together on the same world. It's kinda difficult to explain, but... it would make sense that everything that passes through an Ultra Wormhole into other worlds is then by definition an 'Ultra Beast'. So technically speaking, humans are Ultra Beasts to the Nihilego because Sun, Lillie, Guzma and Lusamine passed through into their world during Sun and Moon.
So, that's basically my unfinished idea, I do still have like a MILLION questions left in my mind, though. For example, who are the Ultra Recon Squad, and why are they here in our world? Are they bounty hunters? Or police to try and hunt down rogue Ultra Beasts? Or what?!
