MADI

Malakas na napabuntong – hininga si Jack when he figured I was sarcastically talking to him.

"Mad, I know I've done so much wrong to you but please let me explain," he said.

I feel like I'm on my peak to release myself. Naiihi ako! I'm trying my hardest to postpone this 'necessity' and said,

"No, just save it. I've totally moved on and please get your hands off me," I replied trying to get away from his grip. He instantly let go of my arms and stayed quiet. He was bowing his head like he's done a very big mistake. At totoo namang may mali itong nagawa.

Gustung – gusto ko nang umalis dahil naiihi na talaga ako pero bigla siyang nagsalita ulit.

"I'm sorry, Mad. I'm so sorry for leaving. God knows how much I've regretted leaving you without hearing anything from me. I hope you'll give me the chance to let you know my side,"

His eyes are begging for a chance and I can feel the sorrow in his voice. I don't want to be tricked again by his deceits, na he should have just confessed to me in much earlier time. But in the back of my head, I want to know his side, too. I've been waiting so long for explanations pero mahigit isang taon rin siyang hindi nagpakita.

"You should have explained much earlier, Jack. Nawala ka nalang na parang bula. I tried contacting you pero out – of – reach ka nalang palagi. I even called Tita, your cousins, and everyone related to you pero lahat sila walang sinabi. Ni hindi man lang nagbigay ng hint kung nasaan ka, kung buhay ka pa ba, o ano? And now you're telling me na I need to hear your explanations?" I paused for a while trying to contain my breathing. Nawala na rin ang bigla ang 'necessity' ko.

"Gustung – gusto kong makinig, Jack. Pero saradung – sarado na ang puso't isip ko para pakinggan ko pa 'yang explanations mo. Mahigit isang taon, Jack, wala akong narinig ni hi, ni ho, galing sa'yo. Kung sa pagkain pa, bulok na 'yun. Napaglipasan na ng araw,"

I gathered all my strength to walk out from him pero mabilis niyang nahagit ang kamay ko.

"Madi, just please give me a second chance. Hayaan mo, uunti – untiin kong ipapaliwanag sa 'yo ang mga dahilan ko hanggang sa mabura ko na lahat ng sakit na idinulot ko sa puso mo. Just please, let me be with you again,"

There was a long pause between us. We were staring at each other's eyes. I don't know what to say or to respond to his sudden confession. Kung tama ang pagkakaintindi ko, he wants to get us back.

"Oh, look what we've got here!"

Mabilis kong naituon ang aking atensiyon sa nagsalita mula sa likod ko. It was Ren and my band mates. Tapos na pala silang kumanta.

I saw Ren smirked at me pointing his hand towards my arms na kanina pa hinahawakan ni Jack. I immediately removed his hands off of mine and tried to act normal, na parang walang dramang nangyari kani – kanina lang.

"So, magkakilala na pala kayo nitong alaga ko?" he asked while walking towards Jack and tapped his shoulders.

"NO/YEAH," nagkasabay kaming sumagot. I said no while he said the latter.

"Oh, so ano ba talaga? Oo o hindi?" Ken repeated the question.

"Yeah," I said truthfully. Pasasaan pa't malalaman rin lang naman nila ang totoo any time.
