Korrasami : An Uncommon Relationship

V: Party Time!........Almost.

Zhu Li runs towards them, looking worried.

"Zhu Li!" Korra waves at her. Zhu Li stops in front of them, then started breathing heavily while hunching over. She reached her hand out and Asami grabbed it to support her. When Zhu Li started to relax, she spoke.

"Thank goodness I found you both." She said. She thanked Asami and released her hold on her.

"Is there something that you have to tell us that you had to rush over and find us?" Korra asked.

"Yes! Well kinda. The reason I rushed over was for Asami. I needed to warn her of some things." Zhu Li said as she straightened herself out.

Asami became worried, "Like what? Did something happen to the company while I was gone?" Korra saw her expression and grabbed her hand to calm her down. Asami tightened the grip.

"No! Nothing bad has happened to your company," she looks away sheepishly, "yet." Asami stares at her questionably.

"What do you mean yet?" She asks.

Zhu Li stands up straighter. "Well, Varrick has been......experimenting.....a lot."

"Is that not a good thing Zhu Li?" Korra asked.

"Well if you consider spending over $1 million yuans a good thing, then I guess we'd be doing great!" Zhu Li tried to say in a causal, joking way.

Asami gasped and lost her balance. Korra held her up and placed Asami down on a nearby bench. She placed her hand on Asami's back to calm her down.

"I'm fine now Korra. Thank you." Asami said. She turned to Zhu Li, "$1 Million yuans? How did he get that kind money?"

Zhu Li sat next to her on the bench, "When you left, Varrick was doing business with some investors that were interested in investing towards your company. He stepped in and talked out some deals with them. It took a while for them to actually consider listening to Varrick, due to his history. But they followed through with it. I'd never seen Varrick so happy, well aside from our wedding of course." They all smiled.

"Anyways, Varrick was ready to tell you the news, but decided that he wanted to do more for your company before you arrived." She says.

"Well, that doesn't sound all that bad Zhu Li. It shows his passion towards business and he's helping Asami along with it." Korra states.

"Yes, but it doesn't help when he's making promises that he can't handle." Zhu Li says.

"I don't understand.." Asami asked curiously.

Zhu Li sighs, "I think he's been working with some gangs in Republic City. By working, I mean creating new weapons for them."

"What!?!" Korra and Kya yell while Asami faints into Korra's arms. Korra looks at Zhu Li.

"Where is he?" She stares down Zhu Li.

"Korra, I don't know. That's why I went looking for you. I needed to see if he came by and talked to you. I'm still unsure if this is what he's been doing. But please, if he is in that kind of business, I need you to talk him out of it. I don't know what's been going on with him" Zhu Li starts tearing up.

Kya walks over and comforts her. "Don't worry Zhu Li. I'll talk to him. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't do this on his own." Korra reassures her.

"Why do I feel like it's my fault though? He could be doing something terrible and I've been blinded by the fact that he's my husband to confront him about it." Zhu Li says.

"Don't think like that Zhu Li. It's not your fault. Just give Korra a chance to talk with him. I'm sure everything will clear up." Kya says.

"She's right," Asami says as she slowly opens her eyes, "I believe Varrick wouldn't go back to working with the bad side unless there's a logical reason behind it." She pats Zhu Li's hand.

"So you're not mad with him?" Zhu Li asks. Asami grins.

"No, but we'll see later." Asami jokes. Zhu Li starts to laugh, then everyone does too.

Korra jumps up, "Come on ladies! I think a party is calling our names!" Korra smiles. They smile, link arms together and head towards the dining hall.

As she leads them into the hallway, Kya hears noises from inside the room. She stops in her tracks making everybody stop too.

"Something wrong Kya?" Korra asks.

She turns around, "No! Nothing wrong here. I'm just gonna go inside, check to make sure everything is set up. Zhu Li, why don't you take them to their rooms. It's not too far, this way they can freshen up a bit more if they need to. Kya says as she leaves them in the hallway. When she sees the three walking away, she quietly slips into the dining hall. She closes the door and turns around to face the room which she ends up regretting.

Plates being thrown across the dining table, waiters hiding behind the buffet table and Kai, dodging plates from Tenzin.

"How dare you date my daughter under my nose and on my island?!" Tenzin roared.

"Sir! If you'd stop throwing plates, I can explain!" Kai squealed.

Kya sighs. She jumps onto the table then creates an ice shield to protect Kai. "TENZIN! Would you stop throwing plates at the kid!?" Kya said over the shattering of plates.

Tenzin stops himself as he's hovering a plate in an air ball. He stares at Kya, then at Kai, then back at her. He's huffing and puffing as he sets the plate back on the table. Kya puts down her ice shield. She sighs a sigh of relief.

"Good. Now, I just sent Zhu Li to escort Korra and Asami to their rooms to freshen up. We have maybe 30 minutes before they come back. This place needs to look spotless, the guests needs to be ready and the food still better be hot." She walks over to her brother and places a hand on his shoulder. "Let me talk to the boy, you go clean yourself up." She says.

Tenzin nods reluctantly, "You're right," he looks back at Kai, then glares, "and you. We'll have a talk after this party." Kai nods. Tenzin leaves the hall and heads to his room.

Kya turns to face Kai. Waiting for a lecture, Kai stiffens up.

"Go get dressed. You're escorting Jinora, aren't you?" Kya smiles.

Kai's face is stunned, "Wh-What? I-i-i thought you were gon-"

"I said I'd talk to you, but I never said about what." Kya ruffles his hair and pulls him in for a hug. Kai was smiling but was still in shock. "You better take care of her. Or else." Kya whispers.

"Yes ma'am." Kai pulls away and heads out.

Kya smiles then turns to see the mess again. "Alright. Looks like we got some work to do."
