Lily and Jace have been best friends since they were 12 years old. They met for the first time on the first day of 6th grade and since then they were inseparable. Their friendship has lasted for almost 6 years. They were both seniors now and in the process of applying to start college that fall.
There was never a fight between them or even a secret that they kept from each other. But, that changed the day after graduation. When Jace called Lily to meet up at their favorite pizza place, he noticed that there was something wrong with Lily.
"What's wrong?" Jace asked.
"Nothing. I'll explain over pizza." Lily answered with a nervous smile.
When they arrived and sat at their usual table, Lily was smiling so much that Jace couldn't wait any longer.
"Tell me what's wrong!" Jace said exasperated.
"I know we promise that we will go together to college and rent an apartment together, but I received an acceptance letter to The Art & Music College of London and I'm leaving in 2 weeks." Lily said.
As soon as Jace heard those words his world came crashing down. He couldn't believe what she was saying.

"I can't believe it. You broke our promise." He answered with tears in his eyes. "I love you, please and I'm happy for you, but I need to go." He said before he kissed her forehead and left.
"Jace! Jace! Whats the matter? Please don't go!". Lily screamed while Jace ran out of the building.
He was so sad. He had prepare a surprise dinner at her favorite pasta restaurant, to surprise her with the key to their new apartment and then ask her to be his girlfriend. He had this surprise prepare for over a month now but, it was over 3 years ago that he knew he loved her.
Flashback:
It was her 16th birthday and her family had prepare a birthday party for Lily. He was going to be her dancing partner in her first dance. When he saw her all dress up, instantly he knew that he loved her as more than a friend. But he was to afraid to lose her friendship that he didn't say anything.
He let the years pass and when he saw that graduation day was just 6 months away he asked her if she will go to the same college with him and rent an apartment together and she said yes. Two weeks later they got their acceptance letter from NYU and were looking for an apartment. He knew that he wanted Lily to be his girl forever. That's why he had prepared the surprise. But now it was all ruined.
Lily sat there crying. She knew she had broken Jace heart and that it was important for him to go to college together, but she got the opportunity to go and study art at her favorite place in the world: London. She thought he was going to be happy for her and would understand the situation. She couldn't lose Jace, she loved him as more than a friend since they were in 10th grade.
Flashback:
When they were in 10th grade Jace got a new neighbor named Elena. She was with them in the same grade. Jace started to talk a lot with Elena leaving Lily alone. One day Lily was crying in her bedroom when her mother entered and asked her why she was crying. She told her that Jace was leaving her behind so he could talk to Elena and she was sad about it because she wanted him just for herself. Lily's mom told her if she loved Jace as more than a friend. Lily didn't knew what to answer until she thought about him, his smile, his dimples and his blue eyes. In that moment she knew that she loved him as more than a best friend.
Since that day she knew that she loved him, but the day she got the acceptance letter to The Fine Art College in London she knew she had to take a decision: Jace or London. After a week of thinking about it she chose London. And well, you know how that went.
