Leslie was working in the library for the summer. When her mother told her that there were offering a summer job at the library she didn't hesitate to go and ask for it. She loved books to much to pass the opportunity to work surrounded by them.
It was her third day working at the library and she was already in love with it. She was in charge of the front desk. This consisted on helping people find what they were looking for and scanning the books when someone was taking a book home.
She was sitting in the front desk when a young man entered the library. He was the most handsome man she has ever seen. He had brown hair, dark brown eyes and the most beautiful smile she has seen. She was in awe.
He entered the library and went to the desk. Leslie took a deep breath. It was the first time she felt so nervous around someone and she hadn't even talk to him yet.
"Good morning! My name is Leslie. How may I help you?" She said with a nervous voice.
"Good morning, Leslie." He said smiling. "My name is Logan and I'm looking for the book The Great Gatsby."
"Let me check if we have it available." She said happy while she entered the name of one of her favorites books in the computer.
While she did that, Logan couldn't stop watching Leslie. She was the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. He liked her blond hair and how her blue eyes sparkled when he said the name of the book.
"We don't have the book available until next week." Leslie said. When she looked at Logan he had a concern face. "Whats wrong?" Leslie asked.
"My sister really needs the book for tomorrow and I can't find it anywhere." Logan said with a sad face. The book was for his little sister for her english class.
Leslie thought about an idea. "I can lend you my own copy if you promise to take good care of it." She said with a smile.
"Are you sure?" He said unsure. "I don't want to be a problem."
"Don't worry. I have two copies." She said smiling. "This book is one of my favorites of all time."
Logan smiled because she sounded so excited when she talked about the book. He understood why she worked at the library, she loved books. He could see that. He had to do something to thank her.
"I promise I will take care of it." He said smirking. "Even more now that I know is one of your favorites book."
"I will be back in a second." She said while she went to her locker to find the book. She was blushing so much and she didn't know why. He only said he will take care of the book and she was already blushing. She thought she was crazy.
While Logan waited, he was thinking how to ask Leslie on a date. Yes he has only know her for how much, ten minutes? But he wanted to know Leslie a little bit more.
"Here you go." Said Leslie while she give the book to Logan.
"Can you give me your number?" Logan asked confidently.
"My number?" Asked Leslie a little shocked. Why a handsome man like Logan would want her number?
"Yes, so I can call you to give you back the book." He said.
"Oh, right. For the book." Said Leslie a little disappointed. She wrote the number in a piece of paper and give it to him. "Thanks for coming. Call me when you end with the book."
Before she could go back to what she was doing Logan said something.
"Leslie, I know we just meet like fifteen minutes ago and I'm going to sound crazy." He said a little nervous. "But, will you go out on a date with me?"Leslie was shocked. Why a man like him would want to go on a date with her. Her head was telling her no, but her heart told her to said yes. So, she just let her heart speak.
"Yes, I would love to go on a date with you." She said with the biggest smile in her face.
"Thank God." Logan said with a big smile. "I have to thank my sister for making me come to the library today."
"And I have to thank my mom for telling me about this job." She said laughing.
They laughed and set the date. Logan and Leslie were not ready for the love story that they were about to start writing together. Because their love was Love at First Book.
