Chapter 32

Max's p.o.v

I was in Adam's office. We heard crying from Jess' s office. We looked at eachother and ran out, quickly knocking on her door.

"Jess!" I yelled.

"Jessy!" Adam yelled.

"Go away!" Jess yelled.

"Jess!" We both said.

"Go the hell away!" She yelled. Lee was coming around with Shelby and the twins. I told them to go back.

"Jess!" We both said. I opened the door, she pushed on it.

"Jess, come on." I said opening it.

She was crying on the floor. Adam and I got on our knees to her level as if she were a little kid. She crashed into us with a hug. Crying. We were both surprised. But I was right, she did have something on her mind. Even more once Laurence got here.

"Laurence was the reason why I got a c that day." Jess said.

"What?" Adam asked.

"I asked Laurence to help me bring my grade up. But he said a c's not bad so there would be nothing wrong with it. Little did he know." She said.

"Jess." I sighed. Adam got up and left.

"I wouldn't have had to have a beating if I would've picked it up." She cried.

"Shh." I said.

"Where was Adam going?" She asked.

"I don't know." I said. Thenuk came in and dealt with her. Lee followed me out.

"Stay here." I said.

"I don't want to stay here." She said.

"Fine." I said. 

We drove to Mystreet. Adam was pulling up across from the girls house. The boys. Adam got out his car.

"Stay here." I said.

"I don't want to!" Lee said.

"You listen here and listen good. Stay in here." I said closing the door. I went with Adam as he went in.

"Hi Laurence." Adam said.

"Hi Adam, Max." He said.

"Max. Step outside." Adam said.

"Nope." I said.

"Tell me. Did Jess ask you about her grade- when she was little?" Adam asked.

"Yes." Laurence said.

"Good enough for me." Adam said going after him. They began to fight. The other boys got here.

"What's going on!" They asked.

"Stay out of it or you can go against me." I said.

"Lets help Laurence." Garroth said. They came at me. I began hitting back, knocking them off their feet. Adam knocked Laurence out. We ran for it and to our cars, Lee was asleep in the car. I drove off, she woke up on our way back.

"What I miss?!" She asked.

"Nothing much." I said- I had some blood on my shirt.

"Is that yours!" She asked.

"Like hell it would be." I said. She smiled. We got back, Jess was asleep on the couch in Thenuk's arms.

"Stress." Everyone said.

"Wait is that blood!" Shelby asked.

"It's not mine." I said.

"Man. Poor boys." Red said.

"No kidding. I left him bleeding." Adam said.

"Anyways. Better get her home." Thenuk said.

"Also. Good that you did it. If not I would've." Thenuk said.

"Nu uh!" Lee said.

"Uh huh!" Thenuk said. They both stuck there tongues out.

"Kids! " I said.

"Might be best for you all to call it a day." Adam said.

"Then help me get her to the car." I said.

Adam carried Jess to my car. While I took the kids with me. I drove home taking the kids in first then Jess. I put Jess on he couch and fed the kids. A bottle- or two. Then cradled them to sleep. I sang a lullaby.

"Don't try and put me to sleep again." Jess said sitting up. Good she woke- I smiled.

"When did we get here?" She asmed.

"Not long ago, Adam told us to take the rest of the day off." I said.

"Is that blood!" She asked.

"It's not mine." I said.

"Don't tell me-" she said.

"Adam went to kick Laurence's ass. I went and helped beat the boy's who tried to interfere." I said.

"You guys didn't have to." She said.

"We know that, but we did it because we love you." I said. She was blushing, I left her with the kids and went to change my shirt. I came down and she was on her laptop.

"What are you doing?!" I asked.

"Hey guys Jess here! And welcome back to another video!" She said.

"Really?" I asked.

"Come on. Ross is online lets do a building challenge." She begged.

"Fine." I said. So we got to it. I played with her and him.

"Who you playing with?" Adam asked from the Skype chat.

"Hi!" Jess and I said.

"You both are supposed to not be working." Adam said.

"Jess wanted to do it." Ross and I said.

"Jess! I gave-"

"Well, I'll see you later. Tune in for the next video- byeee!" Jess said. We cut off the chat and everything.

"Now to edit!" She said.

"Hell no!" I said taking her laptop and mine up to the shelf. Right on the top shelf.

"No fair! You know I'm short!" She said.

"Exactly now hop back on the couch and get some rest." I said.

"Fine." She pouted jumping back on the couch. I got the kids back in there strollers. Then our front door opened.

"What the hell! I gave you both the rest of the day off!" Adam yelled coming in. Alesa and Mason right behind him. I jumped to Jess on the couch, she put her arms around me.

"I forced him to play since I felt bad not doing at least another video." Jess said.

"Still! You should've run it by me!" Adam said.

"She tempted me not to say anything and to play." I said.

"Did you'll even edit it yet?" He asked.

"No. Max put the laptop's on the top shelf." Jess said.

"At least he then took control." Adam said.

"See, I did do something right- even if it was a little late." I said getting off the couch. Mason ran to me and held onto my leg.

"Awwww." Alesa said.

"Uncle." Mason said.

"When did he start calling me that?" I asked.

"No idea." Adam said.
