Chapter 13

At first it was only a loud throbbing in my head .

Then came the constant sharp pain from my shoulder.

I tried to look around but my head wasn't moving , muffled shouting surrounded me and the faint sound of sirens got nearer . I could feel a warm trickling along the side of my face , but whenever I concentrated on it too much my head hurt more. My eyes weren't opening and I could tell someone was trying to shine a light in them.  The pain in my head suddenly got sharper , I wanted to scream in paim but I couldn't .

That was when I blanked out again.

An irritating beeping sound really didn't help the headache , I opened my eyes to see a man and a woman in a nurse's uniform  standing at the end of the hospital bed .

" Hi love , can you tell me your name ?" The nurse said , Jesus I wasn't a child.

" It's Teddi, Uh Theodora " The man interrupted . Wait , how did he know my name , oh guess it was on my health card ..

" Sorry sir , I need to hear it from her ." The female figure said sternly.

" He's , uh right its Theodora , Teddi.." My head really hurt and I was beginning to get really scared .

" Do you know why you're here ?" The nurse asked , I looked up and opened my mouth to speak but settled on just shaking my head .

" You were in a collision, your seatbelt was faulty and it snapped , you went through the windscreen of the taxi into an on coming bus. " The nurse said calmly , Jesus she could show a little emotion, that sounded pretty serious .

The guy next to her had really red eyes and unwashed hair , Was he a doctor or something or maybe another person in the crash..?

" How old are you?" The nurse interrupted. 

"19"

"20"

I looked at the man , my eyes wide . " I'm 19 " I turned to the nurse . She nodded but the man shook his head " No , no you're 20 !" He shouted desperately making me jump.

"Sir you need to calm down !" The nurse said eagerly , trying to calm him . I looked back and forth from them both , This was all so much , I couldn't , I ..

" Miss What was your last memory before the accident.? "

It hurt my head to remember but I know I had to try .." I ..uh " I looked at the man again ...no. " I'd um.. I was waiting for the bus on the way to Uni.. wait is that What happened , no wait .. it wasn't was it. " I realised almost immediately ...god  this was hurting my head a lot .

" Not exactly .." The man said , barely a whisper , who the hell was this guy?!

" Look can I get some pain relief for my head or something please ?" I turned to the nurse urgently , she nodded and hurried off .

I leaned back in the bed closing my eyes for a minute , trying to take this all in . So I'd been in a collision .. and I'm guessing I've broke my arm or something ..

" Ted, hey you alright?"

I opened one eye to see the dude sit down beside my bed , I snatched my hand back when he tried to grab it , his eyebrows furrowed in confusement and he slowly drew his hand back .

" Ted , what's wrong ?" The man went to stroke my hair , I ducked away , staring at him , eyes wide mouth slightly open . " What are you doing?!"

  This guy was freaking me out , you don't just random touch people .

" Ted..you know who am I right?

I shook my head , was I supposed to .." You're a doctor or something aren't you?" I took a swig of water and turned back to him , a single tear rolled down his cheek .

" Uh no , I'm not a doctor .." He barley whispered his voice breaking mid sentence ..

" Who are you then ?"

The nurse returned with a few tablets and I took took them with some water and waited for an answer.

" I'm uh..."

He stood up and walked off wiping his eyes as he did , the nurse looked at me before running after him .
