Shit, shit, shit! Chloe was trying to figure out how she let that happen whilst still trying to have a conversation with her husband, thank god it wasn't face time!

"Thanks babe last time I ring to find out where something is"

"No problem"

Luckily Chris doesn't seem to pick up on her short responses and she is too distracted to be upset about the fact that he still hasn't asked how her new job is going. In fact he hadn't asked how any of it was going, so far he had filled her in on the going's on with his work and his friends, even told her about his footy team but nothing about how she was going.

"Oh and Thommo said to remind you how lucky you are"

At this she smiles,

"Coz he'd never let his missus go overseas for months on end, really your lucky I know how to cook a few things hey"

The smile disappears as quickly as it arrived, right so not so sweet after all.

She makes a feeble excuse to end the conversation early, too racked with guilt to keep talking to him, she places the phone down on the coffee table and sits down, heart thumping. She had cheated thinks, unable to believe she had done it

Oh please, as if you weren't waiting for that to happen, otherwise why have him over?

Great that helpful voice chiming in, not a productive problem solver this inner voice it was just her harshest critic, well after her mother of course. The annoying thing was she could see the logic in it, she cant the play innocent shocked girl on this one, from the moment she took the job in Detroit she had thought about this at the very back of her mind, knowing this ugly truth about herself didn't really help though. She runs her fingers across her lips, to kiss him again was incredible, although he certainly was a lot more confident now, but she wasn't surprised he certainly isn't the nervous teenager she had fallen in love with. Her phone buzzes again, god who now her mother? It's Marshall, her heart skips again but she cant bring herself to answer, her biggest problem at the moment wasn't that she had betrayed her husband by kissing another man it was that she wanted to do it again.

******

Marshall hadn't really expected her to answer but he wanted to make sure she was alright, despite her reaction to the phone call from her husband she had wanted him to kiss her, he knew that, the way she pulled him into her told him that. Walking back into his house he was resolved he would send her a message instead that way it'd give her some time to respond, the house is unusually quiet as Kim has the girls for the night. Marshall walks up the stairs to his bedroom flipping his phone around in his hand trying to think about what to say, he had been cheated on and he had gone crazy over that but selfishly and hypocritically this was different. Although impractical and incorrect he saw this situation differently, Chloe was his, fuck this guy, if he loved her that much why wasn't he here with her? The only thing that stopped Marshall from following her when she left was the fact he was sixteen and still a minor, their marriage cant be that perfect.

******

Chloe's phone buzzes again, she had finally stopped pacing and had gotten the self loathing to a respectable level of control, she wasn't quite ready to return Marshall's call but when she saw it was a text message that much she could manage.

*Yo, I'm not sorry about what happened but I hope your alright. When can I see you again?*

Chloe smiles despite herself, it was what she wanted to hear but also dangerous because she knew she wanted the same thing.

^I want to see you again but unsure if it's the best idea^

She hits reply and almost instantly receives his response

*It's probably the best idea you've ever had*

^You've gone from mad to friendly awfully quick^

*If you want we can argue but that will just intensify what we both know will be the end result...yeah OK lets argue.*

Chloe chuckles and leans further back into the couch,

^I was right this is a dangerous game^

*Its also why you came to find me though isn't it?*

He had hit the nail on the head there hard enough to drive the truth home, it seemed Chloe was right in thinking she had already made her decision, her marriage vows were broken the moment she stepped on the plane.

^I meant it when I said I missed you, I wanted to see you^

*Right so when you seeing me?*
