"You're going to at least write yeah?" Marshall's blue eyes plead with her.

"Of course I will, plus I will be 18 in two years I will be back, she cant tell me what to do then"

"So its only two years then, I will be just gettin famous then." his confident smirk all but masking his devastation.

"Exactly, so you can have a place set up for us so I can just start uni" she rests her hands on his chest again, tugging on his hoody strings

"Thats right" he leans in and kisses her fiercely, then brings her into a tight embrace.

The alarm rips through Chloe's dream, startling her awake, Chris still sleeps soundly next to her despite the massive gasp of air she had inhaled upon waking, she was always jealous with his ability to sleep through anything. Trying to calm her pounding heartbeat Chloe takes slow even breaths, the dreams had been incredibly frequent since she had accepted the new position in Detroit.

After fourteen years she would be returning to Michigan and it made sense she was dreaming of him, although he had dogged her thoughts countless times throughout the years (and how could he not when he had blown up to be the hip hop sensation known as Eminem and was pretty much everywhere) the last two weeks he had dominated them. It was a bit silly really, what did she expect to just run into him down the street, as if he would just be out doing his shopping like a normal person, and what if he was it was him that had never replied to any of the letters, him that had promised he would wait until she came back and then when she had returned to Australia not a word, radio silence.

"Morning Darling" Gayle's crisp voice greeted first as usual when she picks up the phone.

"Morning mother" Chloe replies, flipping the doona back and stepping out of the bed, she reaches for her dressing gown

"I was just calling to see if you had lunch plans today, after all you are leaving in a few days and it would be nice to actually see my daughter"

pulling the robe shut and securing it tightly she wonders into the kitchen.

"No i don't have lunch plans, I'm spending the morning finalizing my last few work affairs then was heading home."

"Perfect" he mother's clipped reply, "Well i will see you at Sebastian's at 12:30 then and do try to be on time"

The dial tone clicked before Chloe had a chance to reply. "well bye then" she says to the empty kitchen, not wanting her mother to get the last word.

Flicking the kettle on Chloe reaches for the remote and turns the tv on, Chris had left it on MTV and the first thing she hears is his voice. it's an old video clip one she has seen a million times or more but still the timing of it all, she smiles painfully as she watches him grab his crotch and then flip the bird, would she see him? She guessed she would find out in a few days when she arrived in the states.

"Morning babe" Chris thuds into the kitchen, one hand in his boxers the other running through his sandy blonde hair.

"Morning" she replies, switching the TV off as fast as she can, heart pounding again but this time with guilt.

"You alright?" he asks grabbing a mug out of the cupboard "You look weird"

"just nervous about my last day today that's all" she replies absentmindedly.

"Don't be, your gona be fine, plus this is an amazing opportunity for you, i just wish work wasn't so flat out at the minute otherwise i'd be coming with you!" he pours the boiling water into his mug, stirring the thick coffee as he does so.

"I know, i wish you could come too" saying it out loud made Chloe feel worse as she wasn't sure this was entirely true and what kind of wife was she to be lying to her husband like this.

"well i will at least get to visit, plus its only 8 months, that will fly by" he kisses her on the forehead and then walks to the door to get the paper.

Chloe nods, her eyes travel back to the TV, although it is off she can still see Marshall's face, although it happens to be him at 16 as she left.
