There was the loud sound of the plane engines as the passengers got ready to board the Rapido flight from Liverpool John Lennon airport to Amsterdam. Caitlin and Vanessa had their hats or what they termed 'Thunderbird,' hat on a tilt until Tango Pam told the pair to straighten them. Sighing to herself she gave the instruction that the passengers could now make their way to the seats as she separated the two with Vanessa moved to the front to greet their passengers.
Most of the travellers were already on although there seemed to be a bit of a tail back with Caitlin having to make her way forward to see what the hold up was. Smiling at passengers she gently wheezed her way past like a cat to see a man in a summer check suit and a tall woman remonstrating with a seated couple.
'For the last time these are our seats.'
'No I specifically booked these seats online,' came the nasal South London whine of Doctor Aadesh. 'We need leg room.'
'As you can see these seats are ours.'
'Can I help Sir?' Caitlin asked pleasantly.
'These people won't move...'
'Hey,' snapped the man. 'Who the hell do you thinking you are talking to?'
'I booked these seats online as I need the leg room.'
'Let me have a look?' Caitlin took the print out from the Doctor. 'No Sir, your seats are further up.'
'This must be a mistake at your end. Now I'm not one to complain but I can't sit in those seats.'
'We're not swapping,' said the man firmly.
'Nobody is asking you to Sir,' Caitlin said calmly.
'What is that arsehole doing?' Vanessa muttered as Doctor Aadesh and his wife stumbled towards her.
'You can't sit here . These seats are for cabin crew only,' Vanessa said as the annoying Doctor attempted to put his bag in the luggage compartment.
'Nonsense,' Doctor Aadesh snapped. 'You always have spare seats and I need the leg room.'
'Sir, we need these seats to do our duties and ensure the safety of the plane and passengers. I can show you to your seats if you want.'
'I am well within my rights as a passenger to sit here. Especially after your incompetence did not put me and my wife into our preferred seats.'
The argument was now getting out of control that the Rapido airbus was in danger of losing its slot for takeoff. Ignoring the sighs Vanessa threatened the pair with security which would mean the flight would be delayed as they would be escorted off.
Grumbling at the 'lack of respect,' that he felt should be given to him due to being a medical Doctor the moaning couple went to the seats that they had reserved themselves. That though was just the beginning as the Doctor now clicked his fingers and expected one of the cabin crew to jump to his attention.
'Excuse me,' he shouted loudly to a couple of groans and moans. 'I need service.'
'What do you want, Sir?' Caitlin said quickly before Vanessa stepped in which meant it wouldn't end well for the GP. 'By the way we would appreciate it if you didn't click your fingers.'
'Look you lot are at my beck and call.'
'No we are not Sir. We are here to ensure the safety of the plane and passengers and if I may say so its bad manners to click your fingers for attention.'
'Yes, yes, yes. You're little friend tried the same excuse. I find it as tiring as this shoddy airline.'
Caitlin bit her lip. 'Sir we have our duties to perform and we will provide any refreshment's once we are safely up in the air.'
