Mary's POV
"So Spain, huh?", Maddy asks me as we are having our lunch in the cafeteria.
"Does that guy have to tell everyone he meets?", I ask her and let out an exasperated sigh.
"As a matter of fact, he does.", said a voice near me. Sydney came and sat with us. She looked really irritated for some reason and was frowning hard in a direction, I followed her gaze and sighed. She was staring at the table.
By the table, I mean the place where the popular lot sits, which basically includes all the football players and cheerleaders on their laps. So, naturally my brother had to be there. Well, Sydney hated the idea of guys treating girls like just play dolls and honestly, it disgusted me too. I didn't tell my brother anything because he didn't interfere n my life and I didn't in his. It was a big no-no in our relationship, at school, we were strangers.
"Why don't you guys tell your brothers something, you know this is wrong right? This is just-... Maddy, are you even listening to me?", Sydney almost shrieked. I looked at Maddy who had put on headphones and wasn't even trying to react but apparently she had been listening to Sydney because when she said something about 'lack of sense of style' Maddy took off her headphones and in a matter of seconds both of them were arguing and I looked at them and smiled. I seriously loved these guys.
Maddy was this bat shit crazy person who wasn't afraid of anything and I think, if she actually someday faced any danger, she would just laugh in its face. She was this strong-willed person like my brother, it would be very difficult to actually hurt them, but then again I knew it would be equally difficult to mend them if they were broken. The similarities between my brother and Maddy were overwhelming. It was almost as if she was his sister rather than me.
On the other hand , Sydney was this calm and composed person who got affected by even the smallest problems but could look in the face of the biggest problem and not crack. She worked extra shifts at a nearby Starbucks to pay for her needs to reduce the economic pressure on her family which had increased since her father was suffering from a heart disease.
These two idiots were my family, they'd shared almost all of my adventures and truly loved me. There were a few people I could trust in my life and they at the very top in that list.
"Mary, why is your brother doing this in public?", Sydney's irritated voice dragged me out of my thoughts. I look over to where Sydney is looking. My heart stops for a few seconds at the scene. Around the table a huge crowd has gathered and all of them are cheering and making videos.....for my brother.
On his lap sat one of those sluts and man, they were full on making out. I grit my teeth, as I get up to leave, they break apart and the girl's face make me go wild. No, he shouldn't have done it with her, anyone but her.
I went towards them and pushed through the crowed, and even punch a guy who won't let me pass through, after that the crowd easily lets me go. By the time I reach the table they have already gone out of the cafeteria into the corridor. So naturally I follow them. When I reach them, the girl looks smug and my stupid brother hasn't even noticed me yet. I hold her hand that is dragging my brother along in the corridor which is pretty much empty . The girl's smile fades away and Marc meets my eyes and they widen as soon as they meet mine.
"Hello, I didn't interrupt you guys by any chance, did I?", I ask in this completely concerned voice.
"Well as a matter of fact, you...", the girl stops her outburst when she feels Marc detach her hand from his shirt.
"No...you can't but for her...don't even like her", the girl's mumbling stops when she meets my gaze and she just stares back and after a few seconds rolls her eyes and trots away.
As soon as she is out of sight,I remove my hand from Marc's shirt and face him. He looks guilty. Well, he should.
"Linda Wilson", I say and grit my teeth,"Honestly, couldn't you find anyone else in this whole damn world.", I yell at him.
I hear footsteps in the corridor, and I see the last person I want to see come towards us.Harry Miller and I think those words are enough to describe him. A devil disguised under the mask of a cute, cheeky black-haired guy. He was totally predictable, because you knew when he came mischief would begin. Yes, mischief means mischief and not some bad-boy aura. No, he had this different almost childish immaturity about him, he wasn't dangerous and was actually a softie and wouldn't hurt anyone. He was incomprehensible in his own way.
I raise my eyebrows at him and he says,"Listen, I'm sorry. I made Marc or rather I dared Marc to make out with her and I...I'm sorry."
"Are you done? If yes, then please get out and if not, then please get out too, because I'm not interested in listening more.", I say in a rather clipped off tone. He looks like someone just punched him in the face.
"What?"
"Did you not understand? Are you hard of hearing? Don't you speak English?"
"Yes..I mean no. Wait, what?"
"You guys are idiots. I don't even know why I came to stop you when you have such faithful company, Marcus. But I promise, we will talk about this before dinner", I say in an extremely pissed off tone and walk away.

Harry's POV
I watch her as she walks away and turn to face Marc and sure, he does look scared.Scratch that, he looks absolutely terrified.
"What's the matter,man?", I ask him.
"She said my whole name,Marcus that must mean she's super pissed off and I'm dead.", Marc says,"Listen,Harry if I don't come to school tomorrow, just know you've been an awesome friend and its been good knowing you."
Before I can react, Marc walks away. I look at him and her words ring in my ears, But I promise that we will talk about this before dinner
Why had I had this eerie feeling that she had been talking to me and not him?
Well, you can never be sure with Mary Styles. Her name was itself like an atom bomb. She was so predictable, she was like those people who hated their family, you know stayed away. You never find her at home. She goes there only to sleep and sometimes, not even for that. That girl is a mystery and somehow still manages to be at the top of everything she does. She's amazing at academics. She's just so...her. I don't think there is anything that can describe her that well. Marc told me she went to Spain alone for the past two months. Nice, huh?
I sighed and walked towards my locker, lets go tolerate Shakespeare in English, huh.
As I walked out of the school, I wondered where to go. I decided to go to the nearest Starbucks to pass some time. When I entered the cafe, the smell of coffee calmed me down. I ordered my usual frappe and sat to do my homework recollecting my dad's warning about getting good grades. I grudgingly took out my Calculus books and I couldn't understand a thing.
That's when I felt the chair beside being pulled away, I looked up to see a hooded figure sitting next to me. And then the hooded person took of the hood and I was sitting face to face with Mary Styles.
Oops, I'm dead.
