Avneil : As they fall in love

part 31-(Trap laid?)

Neil along with Avni and his team moved inside the busy chawl. They didn't know the exact place of VP's location. They didn't know what the monster demanded from them. Neil suddenly noticed red rashes on Avni's right hand.

Neil: Ye kya hua?

Avni: Patha nahi. Kuch laga hoga.

Neil: Dhyan rakha karo Avni. Tum..

Just then a crushed paper was thrown at Neil. He bent down to pick it up and read..

"Straight and then right Mr.Khanna"

Neil clenched his fists in desperation. That man was playing a game with him and there he stood completely clueless. He moved forward and took the first right. There was a small shed which seemed more like an old garage. A bright green light shone outside the shed with a welcome board hung to the side. Neil signalled everyone to take positions and went inside keeping Avni close to his side. There was nothing unusual about that place. There was a single chair at the centre of the room where he was sitting. Yes.. That was him! He continuously caressed a small kitten in his hands.

Neil's blood boiled on recollecting what that man had tried to do some days before. Neil protectively held Avni and moved her behind him only to shield her from every possible attack. VP rose from the chair and looked at the police team standing in front of him. He started laughing hysterically much like a physchopath would do.

VP: I know you have a lot of questions Mr.Khanna. Yes! My problem is that you shut down my business. You put an end to that majestic dark world that I created. I know you would reach me soon with the help of Rahul. It will take me years to set up everything again. Tab thak umar sath nahi dega mera..

Neil: So?

VP: Arey kya Khanna sab? I know you will arrest me. I can't hide for much days from your team. Par jo tum logon ne kiya hai, saza tho milni chahye na.. I know, Avni me jaan basta hai tumhara. How about you losing her?

Neil: Are you in your senses? Avni is right next to me completely safe. You are in danger caught by police. And you are threatening me?

VP let out a loud laugh and then kept the kitten from his hands down. The kitten shivered and collapsed to death in front of Neil. Neil raised his gaze to look at the victorious smile on VP's face.

VP: Are you sure ACP Neil Khanna that your Avni is completely safe as you said?

Neil slowly turned behind to witness Avni falling down with a thud on the floor gasping for breath. Neil felt his world turning upside down. VP reminisced smearing a poisonous powder onto Avni's right hand while kidnapping her on his bike. The poison would slowly seep into her body killing each and every inch of her.

DD: BHABHI! Are you fine? Bhabhi. Get up!

Avni felt her throat drying up and choked for water. She trembled for breath. Neil without wasting time bent down and started blowing air to her mouth. Her hands were tightly gripped on Neil's sleeves. Her nails dug into her palms bleeding them. Ambulance was just outside the chawl which Neil had already made ready as a precaution. Neil forgot all about the mission and swept Avni into his arms to run out of the chawl. Just then, VP barged forward to attack them and flung a sharp knife onto Avni's waist. The attack was stopped swiftly by DD. Without wasting time, DD pointed his gun on the wild monster in front of him.

DD: With your permission Sir..!

He shot a bullet straight at Vikas Pandit's chest piercing and tearing it off. Yes! He was dead! Avni's pulse was falling weak and she was rushed to the hospital..
