Rose's POV

I sat in my apartment alone thinking and counting down the days until my rent expired
It was safe to say I had been living here on borrowed time
As my aunt whom I stayed with had just paid the rent before she got married and had to move to Asaba with her husband
Now almost a year later and I still did not have a job and soon would not have a place to live as well
As I weighed my options of either moving back to my family in Port Harcourt or as M.J had suggested living with her and Chris
My phone rang
There was a call from an unknown number
Hello ? I answered
Hi
Is this Rose Long-John the voice asked
Yes..... why? I answered
I'm Diane from O.C.D.C
You are requested to be at the company tomorrow by 11am
OK?.... but why  I demanded
I'm not allowed to say
Good day Miss
And with that the line went dead

I put my phone away and lay down as I tried to come up with a reasonable explanation as to why they would want to see me tomorrow but I couldn't think of anything
So I dialed Mary's number
After two missed calls
I gave up trying and just stared into oblivion as I drifted to sleep
Dreaming of a chance meeting with a brown eyed god in a dark blue suit.

Nelly's POV

It was 10:55 and I had just barely gotten into the office when I heard a knock on my door
It was Diane reminding me of my meeting by 11am
My whole body weakened at the thought of having to meet little miss pathetic today.
I was slightly exhausted and drained, the last thing I needed this morning was an annoying, pathetic girl with an attitude in my presence but the board had chosen her and even more so against my better judgement I had recommended her.

I had barely gotten enough sleep last night as I had left the office quite late and picked up Anne for dinner almost immediately although I had rejected her offer to come home with me I had still gotten in late and spent most of the night wondering if it had been wise to follow my mother's advise
I resolved however to let her prove herself unworthy in the following months as I was almost sure she would right before I drifted off to sleep.

I was snapped out of my reverie by the ringing of my office phone
Yes ? I  questioned
Knowing exactly who it was
Your meeting Sir one of them is here
And the other? I requested
I'm not sure Sir she said an evident tremble in her voice
"Maybe she's running late"
Of course, she was late unsurprisingly
"I'll be in the conference room in five minutes" I said, setting the phone down

As I entered the conference room minutes later I noticed a man sitting at the far end alone, she was still not here,  'classic!'
she had already started failing at a job she didn't even know she had yet
As I shook the hand of the somewhat terrified young man
and took a seat opposite him, I smiled as I thought to myself this was going to be so much easier and fun too
Just then a figure clumsily stumbled into the room looking as  disheveled as ever
the smile was immediately wiped off my face as I noticed she had arrived.
