(Y/n's POV)

Riiiiiiing! Riiiiiiing!

I can hear my embarrassingly loud and cringey ringtone all the way from the couch, where I'm sitting with the boys. All of them start to laugh at me while the song plays in the background at an ear-splitting volume.

"It's probably that guy from McDonald's! I'll go get it!"

I run to the kitchen and snatch my vibrating phone off the counter. Yup, it's the guy from McDonald's. I'm nervous, but I click the green button.

"Hello?" I start to say.

"Hi! Uh, is this (y/n)?"

"Yeah, uh may I ask who's calling?"

Of course I recognize his voice, but I just wanna be sure.

""Yeah! Uh, it's Ashton, the guy from McDonald's this morning?"

"Oh hi! How are you?"

"I'm pretty good, what about you?"

The conversation continues, and before either of us realizes it, we've been talking for two hours. I look at the clock and it's 11 pm, we started talking around 9:00.

"Hey, Ashton, I should probably go. My roommates are probably trying to sleep and it's pretty late, but it was really nice talking to you."

"Yeah, you too. But uh, before you go, can I ask you something?"

"Of course. What is it?"

"Uh, do you uh, would you, want to go on a date? Like this week sometime? We could meet at the coffee shop on Main Street? Or something like that. If you want, I mean."

"I'd love to. When would be a good time?"

"Whatever works for you."

"How about Tuesday morning? Like eight o clock? Or are you working?"

"Yeah! I mean, no I'm not working, it's a holiday so I have it off. I mean yeah, Tuesday at eight works! See you then."

"Goodnight, Ashton."

"Goodnight."

[(A/N) hey guys! I know this chapter is pathetically short but it's been forever since I updated I know, I'm sorry. I've been reeeeaaally busy with school and all, plus I've started talking to a counselor so that takes up time as well. I PROMISE (cross my heart and hope to die) that you'll have another nice, long update later tonight (EST).
