How the frick frack snick snack did this happen
Thanks guys, sorry I haven't updated in a while, life has been getting in the way, but here's a new chapter! I hope it makes up for me not updating in forever...
(Y/n's POV)
Tom is so annoying sometimes. He always takes showers for like, 45 minutes and then when anyone else wants to wash up the water feels like an ocean in Antarctica. It's not really fair, at all. I've been sitting in the hall outside the bathroom with my earbuds in, and a towel under my left arm for fifteen minutes now. I've been passing the time by scrolling through Instagram. Honestly though, who was the genius that designed this house? Its got 5 bedrooms, and only one bathroom. Like, what the hell. Suddenly I hear some quiet noise from the bathroom, muffled by my earbuds. I take one out. Tom is singing, something. I can't tell what. Maybe that's why he takes so long in the shower? He probably sings the whole time, it's a fact that shower acoustics are, in fact, the best. But that still doesn't give him the right to use up all the hot water. And he's singing... Barbie... girl??? What the fuck Tom. He's more of a dork than I thought, and that's saying something. His voice is muffled.
"I'm a Barbie girl, in a Barbie woooooorld I am plastic, it's fantastic! You can brush my hair, undress me anywhereeee!!"
Ew now it's stuck in my head. I put my earbuds back in and blast my own music, trying to get this trash out of my brain. Now he's REALLY going to hear it. I'm so immersed in my own music that I don't realize Tom is standing net time until he kicks me in the arm.
"OW! What the frick Bowling ball!!"
"Why are you just sitting there?"
"I've been waiting to shower for 15 minutes, Tom. You always use up all the water, and you were singing Barbie songs? SERIOUSLY?"
Tom seems startled and embarrassed that he had a witness to his concert session.
"Well.. I, it's just. I wasn't singing that you must've heard it wrong. I only like rock music. Yeah."
"Uh huh. Well if you don't stop using up all the hot water I'm gonna kick your ass."
"Rude," he scoffs and walks away.
"What an ass."
I finally enter the bathroom, and turn on the shower, it's always cold right when I turn the knob, so you have to wait a minute to warm up. And, it's warm. Thank god, I would have been so mad. I hop in the shower to wash up, scrubbing my hair, and as I'm in the middle of scrubbing, the water goes ice cold faster than you could say lickety split.
"What the HELL!"
As soon as I'm done get ready tom is gonna hear it from me, for real this time. I guess all hopes of leaving early for the movie are out the window. Me, Matt, and Tord are trying to help Tom quit drinking. Our first days plan is to take him to this movie he's been talking about. We were going to stop for breakfast first, but I don't know if we'll have time now. And it's his fault. Okay, (y/n), deep breath, you're doing this for Tom, you gotta chill. Inhale, exhale. Yeah okay. I'm gonna go get dressed.
(Edd's POV)
We should have just about everything. Me and Tord went through the entire house making sure to get rid of any type of alcohol there is. Even rubbing alcohol, who knows what Tom might try as he struggles to adjust? Now though, we just have two huge trash bags of Smirnoff, beer, and anything else alcoholic. I think I should probably send Tord to get rid of it, that way we won't have to do it later on the way to the theater. We're going to stop for breakfast, there's this really great local diner, but I think (y/n)'s running a bit late? Maybe I should go see what she's up to. I head upstairs, checking things off my mental list of things to do before we leave. Out of all 5 of us, I'm the responsible one. I guess you could say I'm kind of the Mom friend. Well, not kind of, I am. I'm really happy for Tom, since he's quitting. But I know it's going to be rough for him. I don't know if I'm prepared for the things he might say and do, he warned me not to take it seriously but still. I'm sure it'll be fine. I reach (y/n)'s room and tap on the door.
"Come in!"
I open it slowly, to see her adjusting her clothing.
"Hey Edd, what's up?"
"Are you about ready to leave? I'm not trying to rush you or anything but we were supposed to leave 10 minutes ago."
"Sorry, a certain SOMEBODY took way too long in the shower."
"I'm guessing you mean Tom?"
"How did you know?"
"He's always been a shower hog."
"Oh. Okay, well I'm ready when you are."
"Way ahead of you. Tord already left to dispose of the uh, vast collection of alcohol."
"Okay. Is Matt ready?"
"Yep. I'll go start the car. Why don't you go get Tom?"
"Okay."
I walk to Toms room and just let myself in.
"Hey! You should knock."
"Why?"
"Privacy!"
"Okay. Sorry, jeez. We're ready to leave. Get your shit together."
"Okay okay. I'm ready."
All of us walk outside and Edd locks the front door behind us. We all like into the car and pull out of the driveway, heading for the center of town. Tom still has no idea where we are going, I hope he'll be happy. Sometimes, I'm just really glad to have such amazing friends. This is one of those times. And then, bursting my bubble of thought, Tord switches the radio to blast rap Norwegian rap music. This is going to be one long car ride.
