According to google, family is "A group consisting of parents and children living together in a household." But that's far from correct. Google images got the correct answer. "Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life that want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile and love you no matter what." This answer may be correct, but there's more than that too. Another google image caught my eye. "Family. it's not just people who share your blood. it's the people who said 'I'll be there' & never left. it's the people who loved you, even when you didn't deserve it. the people who laugh with you & cry with you." This is also true. But that's not all of it either. Family is so much more. Family is love, support, trust, sacrifice, honesty, protection, acceptance, security, compromise, gratitude, respect, and loyalty. Somewhere, in everybody's life, you have at least one family member. Even if you haven't met them yet, they're there, somewhere in the world, waiting for your paths to cross. I love my family to death. They have made me the happiest human being in the world. It is thanks to them that I am who I am today. Who am I? Answers to that question may vary. Because I'm lots of things. Hopefully, to someone, I am family. I'm lucky enough to have a great relationship with my biological family, with only a few issues here and there, nothing out of the ordinary. But some people aren't fortunate enough to have biological family, if you know what I mean. So, to those people, I know I have no right to say it but, you need to go out, and meet someone who will love you. Someone who's got your back. Someone who you can call family. But be warned: Some of the most poisonous people come disguised as friends and family. Sometimes people say, "You can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family." And to that I say that that is true, and false. Both at the same time. Sure, you can't pick biological family, and you have to live with that, but, you can pick your real family. If my family's reading this (And I have no doubt that they will), I want you to know that I'll love you to infinity and beyond, and I'll always be that second Mom to make sure that you're okay. Thank you for reading this, and have a great day.
