I awoke to the faint sounds of voices, but struggled to open my eyes. When I started to understand the topic of the conversation, however, I decided to keep them closed."He's doing us a favour because I work here," I heard my father speaking, "But he can only take off so much. She's had to have a lot of drugs to keep her hydrated and tp control the fever. I can't even begin to tell you the amount of antibiotics she's had,"
"I'll help out as much as I can," I heard Yoongi's voice, and felt a slight squeeze on my right hand, "As much as I can give, I will,"
"Don't be silly, Yoongi," My father replied, "We don't expect that at all. We couldn't accept it,"
"We need the help," Jungkook spoke up quietly, "On our salaries, we just can't afford the bills,"
"Where is Jimin?" I heard my father sigh, "I know his work is important, but he should be here with his soon to be wife!"
"I don't think that Noona is going to get married," Jungkook almost growled, "And I won't let her marry him. He is the reason she's so bad! She was running home in the rain with no coat or shoes because of him!"
"Jungkook," Yoongi scolded him quietly, "You're going to wake her up,"
I forced my gritty eyes open, "I'm awake," My voice sounded hoarse, and just trying to speak made my head pound, but admittedly, I did feel better than before. Breathing was easier, for one thing, "I've been awake for a while,"
"Noona!" Jungkook rushed forward, "Do you need a drink? Are you hungry? Can I get you anything?!"
I smiled softly at my brother, "I'm alright, Kook. And I'm sorry, dad, but I probably won't be getting married to Jimin,"
My father sat down in the chair next to my bed, taking my hand in his and stroking my hair, "Bee, it doesn't matter to me. I just want you to be happy," He got to his feet, "Now Yoongi is here, Jungkook and I are going to pop home and have a shower, and then come back. Is that okay? We've been here for a week already, and he is beginning to stink,"
"Hey!" Jungkook protested, "Speak for yourself, old man!"
I smiled at him and waved as he dragged my younger brother from the room.
"A week?" I turned to Yoongi, who was still holding my hand.
He nodded, "They've had the fans on you to keep your temperature down, and you've been attached to drips the whole time," He sighed and rubbed his face, "You really gave us a scare, babe. Why didn't you call someone before you decided to take a walk in the rain, huh?"
I bit my lip, remembering back to the day that I had left Jimins apartment, "I'm sorry. I was shocked and upset. I just.."
"Jimin was worried sick," Yoongi said quietly, "He's been calling me every day to check up on you,"
I felt my stomach turn at the sound of his name, "This was all some sick joke to him," I said, "He wasn't satisfied how he left it at school, and decided to torture me now as well,"
"I think you should talk to him," Yoongi said, "You need to clear this up,"
"No. And since when did you get so cosy with him?"
Yoongi sighed, "We talked. Babe, you really should-"
"I don't want to talk to him!" I cried, cutting my best friends sentence off, "After everything he did to me, he can go rot in-"
I stopped as I saw a figure in the open doorway, a bunch of tulips in one hand, and a little plush unicorn in the other, with a "get well soon" heart attached to its neck.
Park Jimin just stood there, looking at me with sad eyes as he slowly lowered his arms, letting the items in his hands hang by his legs.
"I, uh-" He cleared his throat, "I brought you- You're being moved to a different hospital," He said, switching his sentence half way through, "I already took care of the bill, and my father wanted you in the hospital closer to my building so we could check in on you easier,"
"Thank you, but no thank you," I said shortly, not wanting to look at him. The first look I got of his big, sad eyes made my heart ache, so I thought it would be better to not look at all.
"It's already done,"
Yoongi rolled his eyes and got to his feet, "I need a coffee, I'll be right back," He patted Jimin on the shoulder as he left, softly closing the door behind him.
"Why are you here?" I snapped, still not wanting to look at him, "Haven't you hurt me enough?"
"I wanted to see how you were doing, and I wanted to apologise,"
"It's a bit late," I looked up slightly, and could see Jimin fidgeting slightly, as if he was struggling to make a decision.
Eventually, he moved forward and sat on the chair next to the bed, where Yoongi was previously sat.
"I'm sorry," He said, "For everything. And for yelling at you.. I never meant for you to leave the apartment, I just panicked,"
I didn't know what to say, so I kept my mouth shut. The things this man had done to me as a teenager had only just been healed and forgotten, but here he was right now, infront of me after hurting me once again.
"Bee, I mean it," I resisted the urge to look at him, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry,"
He paused, clearly trying to think, "I thought that I could buy you things and make you happy as an apology, but I know I should have told you,"
"Is this some sick joke? Why did you trick me into marrying you?!" I asked finally. I felt as if my heart was breaking; I really had fallen for this man, but now I knew the truth, I didn't know what to feel anymore. He really had wrecked me.
"Because I love you," He said simply.
I jerked my head up to look at him, my eyes wide. He sat in the chair, staring at me with sad but warm eyes, "I've always loved you. Ever since I first saw you. I built this company for you. I worked out, for you. I thought that maybe, if I was a better person; richer, better looking, you'd feel the same,"
He ran his fingers through his brown hair, "I tried to pretend to be someone I wasn't. I thought that maybe you were starting to fall for me, even though I couldn't be honest about anything. I couldn't tell you how I really felt, or who I really was, but.." He trailed off, lifting the bunch of flowers and the cuddly unicorn, "I remember you always staring at the tulips when we were kids, and I remember that you used to doodle unicorns all over your work books because you loved them so much,"
He placed them gently on my lap, "I was hoping that maybe.. Maybe you could forgive me, and we could start this relationship from the beginning?"
I closed my eyes, trying to calm my heart and get the image of such a gentle, caring Park Jimin from my mind.
I heard him speak again, "Bee, I'm so sorry, and I'll do whatever it takes for you to forgive me. I love you, and I want nothing more than to be with you. I'll give up everything; my company, my money, my home, just for you, if you say the word. Please, just... give me a chance," His voice was thick with emotion, and I gripped the blankets over my legs tightly as I tried to think.
However, going with how I felt at that moment, my decision was an easy one.
"Jimin.."
