"Luhan-ssi, what are you thinking about?"
The voice startled Luhan that he almost fell off from his seat.
It had been 1 month since Yoona passed away. And at first, he couldn't accept the fact that Yoona wouldn't come back again. He couldn't accept the fact that Yoona wouldn't be by his side. He locked himself in his room for days and he even tried to kill himself couple of times. But fortunately he came back to his sense with the help from the people around him-his mom, Yoona's dad, Kris, Chanyeol, Tao, Sooyoung and even his ex-neighbors from his past apartment.
Slowly he started to accept the fact that Yoona had passed away, even that his heart often ached and loneliness often torturing him. And he knew he would never open himself again.
He found a new talent of his which was dancing and he started his career as a dancer, not only because he started to love dancing, he did this because it reminded him of Yoona without getting aches on his heart. Well, he started off by being a dance teacher but lately, he was offered to be a part of a famous dance group.
"Nothing," Luhan muttered with a smile.
"You can always talk to me when you have problems, you know?" Jin said.
"Thank you," Luhan politely said as he stood up. "I have to go now. See you soon."
After exchanging byes, Luhan took himself to a place he started to come frequently, cemetery behind a large church.
He walked to the spot near a big tree. He squatted down and rubbed the gravestone as tears started to roll down his cheek. "Yoona-yah, it's been a while, hasn't it?" he whispered.
He was too immersed in his thoughts that he didn't realize the heavy footsteps behind him.
"Luhan-ssi," the guy called.
Luhan was surprised and he immediately wiped of his tears. He turned around and saw Yoona's dad standing with a bouquet of flowers in his hand. "Ahjussi, annyeonghaseyo," he greeted.
Yoona's dad smiled and squatted beside Luhan as he put the bouquet on Yoona's grave. "You often come here, don't you?"
Luhan only smiled as response.
"Ah, I almost forgot," Yoona's dad suddenly spoke out. He groped his pocket and gave out a disk.
"What's this, Ahjussi?"
Yoona's dad stared in sadness at Yoona's gravestone. "The night before she had coma, she told me to convert a video and put it on a disk."
"Is it fine for me to take it?"
"She wanted you to take it." After saying that, Yoona's dad stood up, patted Luhan's shoulder and walked away.
Luhan rushed home immediately and locked himself in his room as he played the disk.
The image that shown on the TV screen made him choked the air.
"Luhan-oppa, annyeong," Yoona smiled as she stared the screen right into Luhan's eyes.
Luhan could feel tears started to form.
Yoona was really pale. Her lip was trembling and she looked really tired. Luhan could tell Yoona recorded this on the hospital because of the room and the suit she was wearing. Luhan could even see the IV which was hanging beside her.
Seeing Yoona like this and hearing Yoona's soft voice called his name after all this time, it really brought up the emotions that he always hid all this time.
On the screen, Yoona shifted awkwardly and coughed. "Mm, actually this is the first time I recorded myself, so it's kind of awkward for me to do this." Yoona cleared her throat. "Well, I'm recording this, just in case, something happens to me. And if you're watching this, it means that something actually happens.
"I want to say something to you, Oppa. I want to apologize." She sighed and so did Luhan. "I mean, I know I had done the stupidest thing by ignoring you. I know it was really stupid. I thought ignoring you was the best for you, and for me. I thought staying away from you would solve our problem, but I was wrong. I was totally wrong."
Yoona shifted again as she took a deep breath. "I ignored you this whole time because I... I wanted to run away from my feeling. And I thought that I don't deserve the feeling you have for me, and the feeling that I have for you. Not with this kind of condition I'm in right now.
"You've given me hopes and smiles. You always give me the strength to move on. And seeing you smile always make me thought of those 'what-if's." Yoona wiped her tears but she kept looking straight at the camera. "You deserve the best, Oppa. And I can't give you that."
Luhan's heart really broke when he heard that. He swept his tears. He had to endure the urge to hug Yoona really hard, so he lowered his head.
"You know why I wanted us to break up?" Yoona let out a small, bitter smile. "When I lay helplessly on this bed, I couldn't help to think how pathetic I am. And I made a promise to myself."
Luhan raised his head and his eyes were locked with Yoona's determined and firm gaze.
"When I'm healthy later... when I have a brighter future that I could promised for you, I will stand up straight in front of you and say it out loud that I'm yours. And that time I'll devote all my life for you.
"But then again, I thought, what if I couldn't make it? What if my faith won't bring us together?" Yoona sighed. "What if I die and I'll never meet you again? What if I won't have any chance to say it out loud before you? That's why I recorded this, just in case."
Luhan bit his lower lips and grabbed his own hands really hard.
"Actually I'm really grateful that I met you. I'm grateful that I was actually being your girlfriend even if it just for a short time. I'm grateful that you've entered my life and changed everything. And when you came here, talked to me, cheered me up even that I've done a lot of bad things to you, it's just..." Yoona sighed. "I don't know what you see in this person and why you love a person like me, but I'm really thankful that you love me."
Luhan lowered his head again, unable to look at Yoona. His whole body was trembling really hard as he kept his choking to himself. He couldn't control all the emotions that were making chaos inside him.
"The only thing that I'm regretting is that I couldn't be with you right now and say this in front of you directly. But please believe me when I say I want to be with you. Believe me when I say I want to always be around you. And please believe me when I say I love you."
Luhan felt himself stopped to breathe. He also felt his heart stopped to beat. And the world felt like it stopped from rotating.
Just then the hope that he thought was already buried way down in his heart came up again, together with his heart that was starting to beat again, twice faster and twice harder.
"I love you, Luhan-oppa," Yoona whispered once again, as if she wanted to convince Luhan. "Even if there's nothing in the world that you believe, please believe that I love you. With all my heart."
Luhan closed his eyes tightly as he tried to access all of that into his head.
It's not a dream.
Finally the hope that wouldn't dare to hope was granted.
Finally he got the answer he had been searching all this time.
Finally he knew that Yoona loved him.
That's the most important thing for him.
Because if there's nothing he could believe in this world, Luhan could always rely on the assurance that Yoona loved him.
And he believed that he would be fine.
Because Yoona loved him.
